Supermarket with friendly service and the things you need, what else to say?

Selection of fruits is still a bummer here...!!

Panic buying of toilet paper. Slow restocking.

Typical Carrefour store. This one has the benefit of a sports store, a small decathlon next to it. Also a few different food choices.

Bigger better merchandised PXMart with a good selection of products on ground floor of a building. Decent meat and fish department and plenty of dried grocery items. Nice layout and easy to shop.

This store has unsatisfactory customer service, and I'm afraid this kind of behavior is not uncommon among merchants in Taiwan. One time at this store, I accidently dropped a bottle of expensive laundry detergent. The flimsy cap broke and some of the contents spilled. The store made me buy the bottle, and to get a refund, I had to contact the detergent manufacturer, which in turn contacted the Pxmart HQ. The manufacturer said it typically reimburses the store for breakage such as this and that the store should not have forced me to buy a product with defective or non-resilient packaging. More recently, there was a discount on cereal but you had to buy two boxes to get the discount. There was only one box on the shelf. I asked the clerk if there was a second box and, if not, could the store please give me the discount price on the single box since the store was sold out of other boxes. He said I'd have to order the second box and come back to the store to pick it up. I said no thanks. In the past, this store has occasionally rung up the wrong price on products. When I inform the cashier of the error, he or she invariably goes to the shelf to confirm the price. And invariably, he or she finds that shelf price does not match the price the clerk rang up. They never apologize after having rung up the wrong price. And sometimes the cashier still refuses to give me the price marked on the shelf, saying that the shelf price is a sale price that had not taken effect yet and the shelf tag shows this (albeit in very small print). Okay, some consumers might not see any of these actions by the store as unreasonable. But I'd say this attitude results from low expectations among consumers. There are some merchants in Taiwan which actually "get it" and know that if you build goodwill with customers, they will gladly return frequently to buy more. That's why some stores are also loosening up their notoriously strict policies for returning merchandise the consumers don't want. But not this store, and I will not return there.

Very nice supermarket ! Friendly staff and good assortment. It's not so big so very cosy insight. COVID measures are excellent.
