★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ramen was good, but restaurant and toilets are disgustingly dirty. Can't recommend eating at this restaurant, you might get sick due to cleanliness. We did inform the owners of how dirty his restaurant is. Makotoya in ZhongShan North Road, never again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place was some of the best ramen I've ever had. Im a ramen head also. It seems experiences are different though as I read some poor reviews completely baffled. But everything was delicious about my ramen. From the soup base, to the keen flavor of the pork in the ramen. I could taste the marination and seasoning of the pork. The sides of kimchi, chicken, and takoyaki also excellent. Served piping hot. I'm going back asap! Thank you!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ramen and rice meal wasn't bad, but it's not the best either. Takoyaki was not that good, the inside was mushy. The place is not that expensive and some staff spoke some English, which is good. Their ramen is ok by Taiwanese standards, but not the authentic Japanese kind.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nothing extraordinary, the ramen tastes good but there are many better ramen place nearby. The restaurant itself has an authentic Japanese feel to it, but in my opinion, it doesn't feel comfortable enough. The table is small with many things on it, it was a little hard to enjoy my food and talk, when my hands were not fitting quiet nicely on the table. The restroom was horrible.
So my suggestion is if you want to try, just come, eat, and go home.
