Regent Taipei

Poorly maintained. The plumber and hotel representative came to my room after the second call. The plumber didn’t speak but his expression shows that it happened so often that he must have sounded this to the management. The hotel representative apologised but without any compensation. Not even a single voucher or service. Clearly not a 5-star hotel standard service recovery SOP. Room has Poor sound proof. buffet breakfast has a 60-minute dining restriction. Nobody tells you that until you reach the restaurant. Upon check-in, the lady at the counter mentioned 7am-10am which misled guests to believe they can sit and relax during that period. First and last visit to Regent, there are plenty of 5 star hotels to choose from in Taipei.

Stayed at Regent the week before our American Thanksgiving holiday, have to say the experience is superb! Room is very spacious and clean with a large floor to ceiling window overlooking the entire eastern part of Taipei city including that famous 101 building. Dinner at the grand atrium cafe (Azie) trying their Champion beef noodle soup and got entertained by the singer performing live on stage. The next morning's breakfast buffet also lives up to its reputation! Overall, it's a very good 5 star hotel. Definitely will com back again for a longer stay and indulge myself more ... way more!

Last night I was tired ,and fell on the floor at the hotel lobby.because of a wired step dedign on the floor, The duty manager Chris Wu is excellent. He and his staff helped me to to sit down on the sofa and rest for a while,gave me a bottle of water, and he took time to talk to me to calm me down, I'm very thankful to your service and hospitality ?

The staff and service was good but could not say the same for the food. Went especially for the lunch buffet and was really disappointed by the assortment and quality of the food in general, did not match the level of a Regent hotel's catering I had experiwnced in other Regent hotels.

The first time to live here, the overall housing experience is very good!☺️ The transportation is convenient. It is very close to Zhongshan MRT station. There are also department stores and many delicious foods nearby. This time, I chose to live in the balcony room.The room is large and comfortable with bright lights. My favorite design is walk-in closet!! ? Dinner is to eat in Brasserie, in which the choice of sushi is very diverse, and the sashimi is very fresh. But the only dish that was a little disappointed was roast beef, which was a little too tough. Breakfast is perfect. I think if you don't book a room, it's also a great choice to enjoy breakfast in the hotel! The service staff had a good attitude, which made people feel very friendly. If I have a chance in the future, I will still choose to stay!

Clients beware! The customer service team has a tendency of shaming you for making reasonable requests! Before I checked out, I finally found the manager and explained the process. All they did was give me a verbal "sorry" plus meaningless promises that they'll upgrade me next time and they'll train their employees better. I will never return to this hotel. These empty promises to improve my experience "next time" does nothing to help me feel better about my horrendous experience there. The room I lived in was most definitely not 5-star quality. Most importantly, their customer service doesn't even deserve 1 star. From night shift to the two managers I interacted with, every employee here provide subpar service comparing to similar experiences from my past. Would not recommend this place at all.

The definition of travel is going from one place to another. Usually the starting place is home. When choosing which hotel to stay in the destination of traveling, my rule of thumb is, location first, reputation (or good recommendation), then budget. In a modern city, a good location means a subway station is within 500 paces from the hotel. This hotel is one of the older landmark hotels in the city but it has kept some of the amenities up to the digital age standard, that you may find USB slots available and plenty of electrical plugs in the hotel room and on the nightstands. But it's strange that the hotel keeps the 1980s' room door security system-- still using turn-key-and-door-lock mechanism. It's a pretty heavy metal key to carry after I leave the room. I was so worried if I would lose it when I was going out. There was a note in the bathroom indicating not to over flow the tub water to the floor because there is no water drain in the bathroom. That is really weird. Inside the hotel building, there are a few great restaurants. Too bad I didn't have time to dine there during this trip. Staff were all super polite and nice that I was afraid that my manner towards them wasn't reciprocal well. One flaw about an older hotel is that the room walls are not built soundproofing well. This doesn't matter until you come across some rowdy and ill mannered guests check into your next door. I had to demand the management to change room after two sleepless nights.

I’ve halfway through my stay and everything has been lovely. Even though it’s a massive hotel, the staff have taken the time to remember my name and help me navigate my rather stressful move to Taipei. They have been more than welcoming. Though dining is expensive, there are a ton of great local restaurants that the employees have recommended. 10/10 stay ??
