It’s very comfortable and cozy place. I have a good time with Dean. He is very professional, especially in short hairstyles. The price is a little bit higher, but the quality of service is awesome. I highly recommend it!

Carl working the impossible as always! When I first visited Relux (after chancing upon it online), Carl was my hairstylist. There wasn’t much conversation between us and I didn’t recall providing much input as to what I wanted, but Carl was intuitive enough (or he looked through his crystal ball) and gave me a haircut that screamed “me”. His impeccable attention to detail was what really impressed me, when he manipulated tiny strands of my hair just to see what would fit best to perfection. After several sessions with Carl, I was confident enough and returned with my husband (then fiancé). Coming out of lockdown, his long, steel wool, afro-like hair was definitely not the easiest to deal with, but Carl once again worked his wonders and gave my fiancé a haircut that made me said yes to marrying him. Carl also patiently taught me how to style my hair for my wedding (as I decided to do all styling myself) and literally made me practice on the spot at least 3 times, until I passed the exam. I returned yet again with another impossible ask, that I could be given a hairstyle which (i) requires 0 preparation time in the morning, (ii) looks professional, and (iii) needs to be completed within 2.5 hours. With cutting and perming involved, he waved his wand (scissors) and did all the above, with perfection as the bonus. It’s not everyday you get to meet a hairdresser that upholds perfection and works on your hair down to the minutest strand, patiently teaching you like your Math teacher should have, and intuitive enough (owns a crystal ball) to gift you a hairstyle that would suit your vibe. When you do, the least you can do is to give a good review online so others may have the chance to experience his magic.

I've always hated going to hair salons because I can't stand sitting in front of a mirror for an extended period of time, it just makes me so uncomfortable. Also discussing how I want to look to a stranger has always been the hardest task for me. However, this place changed my lifelong fear. With that in mind, I want to review this from 4 different aspects: (1) communication was direct and helpful, easy to understand I don't really invest my time on understanding the latest trends of hairstyle or hair technology. So when stylists (from other salons in pervious experience) fling fancy words in my face and look at me as if I am from 19th century, I immediately feel discouraged and wanted to leave. Dean did not make me feel that way. I probably had my guard up first time I was there because I didn't want another experience like before. However he listened and asked the right questions to gauge my goal, and gave me very straightforward recommendation, no fancy terms. If he didn't like something, he would say why he thinks that won't work. He also delivered the results he described before starting the procedure (cut and perm). (2) friendly, professional, thoughtful staff Staff greeted me when I arrived and I didn't have to wait to get a seat. They are very attentive and smart in terms of anticipating your needs. They follow up with you and make sure you learn how to take care of your hair. Again, I don't invest my time on my hair so my hair-arranging ability is 0. But the staff insisted on making sure I get it, so she (Wendy) spent time teaching me. I really appreciate that. I've been trying to work on it and seeing my own improvement is assuring. (3) execution Overall I think the execution is superb. You get what your were told/recommended. I've only permedy hair 3 times in my life and this has been the only one that lasted. (4) price Oh the only thing slightly less rosey is the bill. But honestly I probably do major hair revamp only once a year so I think it's fine. It's definitely not the cheapest. I think it's very thoughtful that they actually give you a price estimate after your discussion and before starting any work, so you know exactly how much you're committing to. I'm not saying it is for everyone, but it was a positive experience for me.

Relux salon is a very comfy place and all the staff are very helpful and polite. Dean is a super hair stylist and he has great experience on cutting short hair and gave me great suggestion for the hair colour too! I have great experience for my first time hair cut in Taipei.
