Small selection of food but everything we got was tasty. Chef worked overseas before as a cook and you can definitely taste that in his food.

Food was really good, located in community. But pricy. We paid like NT$2300 for this meal

I’m the gal who waited outside the restaurant for forty minutes:) For those who don’t know, this restaurant doesn’t seat incomplete parties, and they DON’T make sure that you know that. They also have zero tolerance and flexibility when it comes to this rule as well:) It was cold and stormy, and the restaurant did not have a single person in it. I was refused a seat even though there wasn’t anyone in there, all because “my friend”, whom I have zero control over, is late. It’s really not that restaurant cannot have rules, it’s just that if a restaurant is going to have rules as strict as such, a reasonable person would expect notifications that are more… noticeable? Do they have rules written down in their Facebook page? Yes, hidden in their “reservation rules” post that resembles an uni thesis. Do they expect EVERYONE to go to Facebook and check their page out and read every single word before reserving? I have no idea. Not to mention that we reserved our seat via telephone and the Inline app, neither of which put any emphasis on the “no seating incomplete parties” rule. When we eventually confronted them, I was told that, all fault lies within my friend, because she is late. Also we were rude to ask if it were possible to refund our deposit. We did not shout nor did we raise our tone AT ALL. Yet we were accused of yelling at them. Btw, the waitress DID raise her tone to… I wouldn’t say shout … more like hysterically shriek at us? There were a few discrepancies to show that they are the liars, not us. 1. My friend was late for 40 minutes, not an hour like they accused of. This trivial detail matters because that’s what gaslighters do, they augment your fault and your part of the blame, and they shift the blame to you. 2. We did not shout nor did we raise our voice, they accused us of doing something we did not do. The waitress raised her tone when we did not, end of story. I am of the position that the restaurant should have any rule they want, but having strict rules that CLEARLY is not the norm in the city should have been more clearly communicated. ----------- Just in case the restaurant decides to insist that they wrote the rules clearly on the inline page, I reread the inline page reservation post (which also resembles an uni thesis). The rules clearly said that we could not be seated if parties were incomplete, but did not specify whether people could wait INSIDE the restaurant standing (i.e. not seated). IT WAS NOT CLEARLY WRITTEN NOR WAS IT CLEARLY COMMUNICATED. It was windy, cold and RAINING, and I believe ANY reasonable restaurant would AT LEAST let people in and wait if THERE WAS NO ONE IN IT. This practice is clearly not the norm in Taichung, and it was not sufficiently communicated. That about sums up my point.

Amazing little place, hidden away in a residential street. Delicious and nicely presented dishes, though limited selection. Menu has few but very nice dishes, changing with season. The staff/ owner are very friendly, making the visit even more memorable! Can highly recommend for both locals and visitors in Taichung.
