Ruifang Train Station

This is the entrance / exit of Ruifang train station, which is the main transit point to and fro Taipei if one is considering to visit places east of Ruifang - Shifen or Jiufen. There are clear signs once you alight from the train to exit either left or right to the laojie (old street) or to board a bus (located about 10 mins eastward) to Shifen. There are local and “fast” trains - do note that you will need to purchase in “advance” the “fast” train tickets as train inspectors board these trains regularly to check. For the regular carriages - they are cheaper but more crowded, and takes longer (more stops). There are local buses though you will need ask around (or Google map) the exact bus stop to board the bus. You can use EasyCard to pay for your train and bus ride (about 70km north / south of Taipei), which definitely makes traveling more convenient. The drawback: though there are lift lobbies at every train platform, some are non-functional, and witnessed a wheelchair bound elderly struggling to head downwards. More regular maintenance will be needed - seeing that this is a major stop for locals and tourists alike.

I like how the area is old looking and ancient, the station a little cramp though but it is such a good experience. It is also due to tourists everywhere. Haven't got space to even move. Maybe frequency of train can be change.

Clean and clear signage for tourist. Should consider a snack or meal at the bustling food lanes just outside ruifang train station.

Departing from Taipei Main station conveniently connects people to Shi Fen (to release well wishing lanterns into the sky and have some pretty decent food near train station) by train transfer or JiouFen by transferring to bus up to the hills. Only down side is train wait to Shi Fen was quite long. We missed one and next one is almost an hour away.

An important station in New Taipei city. Old station but property signposted through out. You need to take the bus from there if you want to visit the famous 'Jiufen old street' or Jiguanshi. The bus stop is 250 meters away from the train station. This is also a transfer station for Badouzi and Pingxi line. Taxi stand is just outside the station. If you are going there with a small group it's better to hire a taxi to visit the scenic spots on coastal area.

From Taipei to here is quite easy, from here you can go to other tourist locations, make sure it is not wrong track. The station is also clean and the officers are friendly enough

Nice station. You definitely feel like you're outside of Taipei, as the atmosphere and energy isn't as high. In addition, do keep in mind that you will defining be waiting MUCH longer for a train to arrive. This is not the MRT. You can utilize that time to explore a bit of the area, though, as I did.

Staying away from the urban area, and enjoy the forest, clean Station, and friendly people <3 The train is so cool and the conductor actually allow us to have fun with some of the "disable" machine and phone inside the train! really good experience and we enjoy taking this train
