★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the oldest steak houses in modern Taipei. The first bite was always underwhelming, unimpressive. Yet, it got better and better. The flavor of the meat spread through your tongue, sometimes sugary, often juicy, slowly became a distinct taste. It was a little heavier than other prime steaks. The portion of the salad and soup were very generous. Two people can definitely share a set. Each cut came in 3 different sizes, 8oz, 10oz, and 12oz.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Preparation of the steak was perfect, soft and juicy. Bit expensive and got a price shock compare to USA (you may get more with the same cost in USA; but you have to keep in mind that they are serving US prime in Taipei).
Ambience is more or less same in a good USA steak house :)
Enjoyed the food; will come back again.

Ruth’s Chris was one of the early premium steakhouse entrants into Taiwan market. With approx 30yrs of reputation and influx of numerous top international steakhouses, Ruth’s Chris has a lot to live up to and keep up.
As with Morton’s, Ruth’s Chris is staunch in American prime beef that serves wet-aged. Signature beef on the top two percent of USDA prime beef, grilled at 1800 degrees and served on sizzling 500-degree plates.
Service was excellent and attentive.
Decor and setting was dark wood throughout with almost no updates since my last visit approx 20yrs ago.
Steaks were less impressive. We ordered medium rare, rib-eye (12 ounces) came medium well. Steak knife looked right out of a dollar store and was tough to cut. Meat were deliciously marbled, the large fats are quite obviously scattered all around, but the meat does not fall apart by the fibres easily. Overall, there wasn’t much to take away from the monotony of a 12 oz meat.
Sides are a little standard though, with the usual suspects like mashed potato and baked potato which in most modern takes of steakhouses nowadays, baked potato seems a thing of the past.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of my favorite steak restaurant in Taipei. Love their dark wood style decoration. Great ambiance and service. Filet steak (medium rare) was tender and delicious. The portion of the salad and sides were generous. Wild mushrooms were pretty awesome! Two people can share one set. Attentive and comfortable service.
Nice place for birthday celebration. They can also develop the photo immediately. No doubt we had a wonderful and impressive dinner.

During lockdown the quality of takeaway was still on point with food packaged carefully. We got our steak slightly more rare so that we could heat it on the grill when we got it home. Also they gave us a free dessert of our choice!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a wonderful dinner here. Shared a 16 oz ribeye which was just the nice amount of meat for both of us. The starters were surprisingly good especially the crab cakes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Steaks are so good there, IMO portions are huge. They always have this beautiful set menu to let you try everything. Waitress are so attentive and nice. Overall had very very good experience.
