★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 天后宮主神天上聖母尊靈原系雲林縣土庫鎮順天宮天上聖母，眾稱土庫媽，於中華民國四十八年六月，由該鎮人士林永順等恭迎到本市安奉，在本宮對面淡水河邊蓋一簡陋竹寮奉祀。據於民國五十一年波密拉颱風前夕忽然發爐，眾善信立即祈求筊示指近日將遇水患宜速遷離此處，經眾善信商決牽至現址。由王深柯敬獻土地八十四坪、黃仁志敬獻十七坪，合計101坪，就在此地上搭建一小屋安奉，經數日果真大洪水將原址剎時滾成深潭，鄰近居民無不稱奇，威信聖母顯赫，朝拜信徒日增。
斯時前主委葉楓及柯啟明、高金益、許又三、陳炒等順應輿情發起集資興建一座克難廟宇，信徒日眾香火鼎盛，久來建物腐蝕不堪使用，經管理委員會議決全面重建，由主委葉楓父子捐獻廟體粗造工程費外，多蒙社會大德居士慷慨解囊積砂成塔，乃於民國74年11月11日興工至民國76年11月11日竣工，13日安座大典，成為一座金碧輝煌壯觀廟宇。
