★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 5-10 minute vertical hike, 30-40 minute horizontal hike, followed by a 5 minute vertical hike. three waterfalls. can't beat that!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the easily accessible day treks from Taipei. Most parts of the trek are relatively flat terrain less the part where you have to go up some steps to the pipa caves. The trek have sections that could be slippery during rains so be careful.
The cave at the back of the falls are beautiful so take the extra 10mins to make your way back to see the perspective from behind the falls.
The trek don't just end at the third falls. There's still a route towards either houtong or dahua. Didn't have time to do it so we walk the reverse way put

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a great area for hiking, it might not be a very easy destination for the normal city person as some parts include climbing different kinds of ladders or steep hills and depending how far you go even crossing creeks and rivers. Make sure you wear the right shoes especially if you visit after rainfall, some areas will be muddy, slippery or under water. Beautiful and tranquille area with hardly any people around. We hiked from Sandiaoling to Houtong. Awesome route, perfect day.
