★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Recommended by my Taiwanese colleagues. Really good dishes: sweet potato porridge (all you can eat), pork tendon, fried egg with turnips and almond pudding.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have been to two other shin yeh with good food and service but our first visit to this branch is just terrible. We have never had such bad service ever here in TW. We planned to have late lunch so I have made a reservation after making sure their last order is at 3:30. Upon arrival, they made us wait for so long when there were less than 5 tables inside. After we are seated, it was difficult to get any server to take our order or refill tea pots. None of the waiters seem to know how to smile or the basic manners of serving. The waitress simply dropped the free desserts without explaining what it is or that it’s free. One of them hit my grandma’s arm by accident when he was lifting the baby high chair even though it’s very spacious. The moment we dropped our chopsticks they came to tidy up the table. Such rude and bad service, please just go to the other branches and avoid this.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Their speciality is yam congee, $35 per person, with unlimited refill. The classics dishes go very well with their congee like fried with oyster or preserved veggie. Quite healthy!
Environment is nice and service was not bad. Comes with free mochi with peanut powder.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Always Crowded, even during weekday lunch. The food was kind of meh. None of the dishes really impressed. The cabbage stew and the fried pork chop really disappointed though. The staffs were friendly and attentive in general but got argumentative over a misplaced dish for no reason.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Traditional Taiwanese dishes such as Cai po egg, fried oyster, sweet potato porridge, stir fried sweet potato leaves, etc. Free flow of sweet potato porridge so you can eat your fill. Always a must visit place for me and my family when we visit Taipei. A little on the pricey side but still worth the price.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They forgot about one of our order and kept us waiting for 30 mins. If you missed our order just be honest and tell us the truth. You shouldn’t lie tot customer that it is already prepared and it will be delivered soon. This is definitely an unpleasant experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Perfect 10! Every single dish was well made... very well made! Pan fried liver, sesame oil fried kidney, braised intestines, mapo toufu and fermented radish omelette... OMG good! The only downside is the price... a little steep for these dishes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ a well-known place for Taiwanese cousins. The dishes are usually not of a big portion but with good quality. It’s definitely toward the high end of the price spectrum.
