Probably the most beautiful and special temple complex we've seen in Taiwan. The place is absolutely spectacular and there is so much to see. People with knee/back problems should take into consideration that there is quite a lot of climbing needed in order to get even to the first temple, so prepare accordingly. Ample free parking is available on site before the climb. There is a single Chinese restaurant near the parking lot so bring food if you plan to spend a considerable amount of time here.

This temple should be on any tourist's list. It's magnificent. Like many temples, expect richly decorated and colorful rooftops, plenty of wood design, stone wall carvings, paintings, statues. But the structure of the temple offers very scenic views on the temple itself, which is great. Mountain surrounding makes it even more remarkable, especially with the view from the nearby Kaishan Temple. It's also part of the lion's head to lion's tail trail which allows to come through hiking. There is large parking and bus services. Last but not least, it's possible to spend the night there because the temple also manages a shelter. It's not free but it's a great memory to enjoy the colors of the sunset when night comes, the meal like monks and the calm when the flow of visitors recedes. The price of accommodation depends on the size of the room, but it is comparable to a budget hotel (1200-3000 TWD). The staff are friendly and considerate. So, do not miss this place.
