★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 石棹所在地是重要的交通要道，是前往阿里山森林遊樂區、奮起湖、樂野村、達邦村的必經之地，從嘉義市區上來的遊覽車及''台灣好行''多會在此地稍作休息停留。主要大街上有萊爾富及統一超商，並有多家熱炒店提供用餐。上方的頂石棹則是石棹地區的民宿街，有多家景觀民宿可供選擇，附近有許多景觀步道，強烈建議在此至少住上一晚。
Shizhao is an important transportation route. It is the only place to go to Alishan Forest Recreation Area, Fenchi Lake, Leye Village, and Dabang Village. There are many tourist buses from Chiayi City and ``Taiwan Good Trip''. Will stay here for a while. On the main street, there are Lair Fu and Uni-President Supermarkets, and there are many hot-special shops for dining. Dingshizhao above is the B&B Street in the Shizhao area. There are many scenic B&Bs to choose from, and there are many scenic trails nearby. It is strongly recommended to stay here for at least one night.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small bus stop in Shizhao town. There are two convenience stores nearby, but the stop around has no shelter for bad weather. Buses come hourly to pick up passengers to the city or to Alishan.
