★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Started our Sun Moon lake tour at this spot. Can take some decent photos of the lake here. I would recommend you to go to the pavilion upstairs and you can take a good selfie with the lake as a background there!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place, not too crowded in September. Rented a bike for 150ntd and took a ride around the lake. Counterclockwise it's 11km uphill, 5km flat and 16km downhill. For an inexperienced biker like me, it took almost 5 hours to do. The heat was killing! I'm really proud I made it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Touristy place to take a boat across to the other side of the sun moon lake. Pretty crowded on holidays. I recommend to get a boat ticket first before you come here, like in the train station they have a bundle package which provide bus and return boat tickets also bike rental, cheaper than if you buy it on the spot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the three piers at SML. All day tickets are available for day trips. Up to 4 ferry companies offering service at this location to the other 3 piers. Choose either and remember the platform number for multiple rides.
Bus ride around SML is also available but it takes a longer period. Ferry trips to and fro each location is about 10-15mins. Schedules varies for each company.
Consider buying trip packages at HSR station that includes the ferry rides. Much more economical.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Pier is such a beautiful place to be. Especially early in the early morning when there's so few people around. You can really take in the view and the serene atmosphere. Not sure whats it like later during the day, but I can imagine it to be pretty busy. Sometimes, a fair and cultural events are held here too
