★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A hidden gem in rural Penghu, giving you a rough idea of what it was like to be garrisoned here in the later 19th century on the frontier of a declining empire. It could have used more maintenance but other than that there's not much to complain.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The admission is not expensive, and I think it's worth the price. I happened to be here with a tour group that had their own tour guide, so I got to hear the stories about this place. Military tacticians over the last few centuries seemed to agree on the spots that should be used as fortresses in Penghu. The place has been reinforced over the years. It doesn't look old, but don't be mistaken. It's still full of history.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very cool historical site. We learned some much about Peng Hu from the visitor center. To see the actual fort with cannons, you pay a small admission fee of $30 NT (weekday rate / weekends should be no more than $10NT more). We went inside the bunker and climbed up the stairs to see the cannons.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing place..do visit this to see those huge batteries. There is a visitor information counter which have a souvenir and refreshment facilities. There is a nice beach nearby, do go there for an evening after visiting the fort.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well worth a visit for the NT$30 admission. Visitors are free to wander the tunnels of the fort and climb up to the gun battery. There is a nearby visitor's center with some information on the fort itself and on Penghu's fortifications during WWII
