★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Walking along the road by the sea, seeing the views from the harbor, enjoying the wind from the ocean, that’s one of the best ways to spend some time in the afternoon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A little crowded for sunset. Pleasant view out to sea. Not much here. Little seating. Bizarrely no safe walking path from the main metro to here! Be careful walking along the busy narrow road. Drivers here won't be careful near pedestrians.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There’s not a lot of serene places in the city, so this one’s already good if you just want to look at the sea, enjoy the sun, and just be out of the busy city without going too far. You can see the lighthouse of Cijin/Qijin Island from this area (see my uploaded photo) and there are also nice “shaved ice” shops around it if you want something cold in the summer. It’s better to go there at daytime because night can be very dark. Nighttime is only good if the sky is clear and you just want to see the stars. Took off stars because I didn’t see any shaded seats when we went there so it was very hot when it’s sunny. The seatings were all under the sun. Meaning, you won’t consider staying here. Might as well just take photos then leave.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Located on the west side of Kaohsiung City, at the foothills of the southwestern tip of Shoushan, Xiziwan is bordered by Wanshou Mountain in the north, and the Cijin Peninsula in the south. It is about 20 minutes drive from the city center. It is surrounded by mountains and the sea, and the scenery is pleasant. When the night falls, the sea is magnificent and the fishing boats are shining. The sunset at Xiziwan is one of the eight scenic spots in Kaohsiung, and the beauty of the sea and sky is beautiful. At dusk, it is often seen that couples of lovers are in love with each other, and the situation is more poetic and picturesque. (Photo taken by pixel 3a)
