Smangus Giant Trees Trail

Beautiful trail, I only walked it part way, waterfall is easy to get to.

No Chinese tourist allowed! and the most friendly of people to meet. Hiking to the see the forest and giant tress is awesome. Reservations only and you better start 4 months ahead of planed trip.

Great view, great time

Very nice place to visit in the central mountains of Taiwan. Almost 3 hours drive from hsinchu city. Very good view from the mountains and the old trees are with of watching. Cheers

Around 11km round trip, 4 hours plus, very nice scenery, but watch out for rain during summer, especially early afternoon

Beautiful Trail to the ancient giant Cypress trees Smangus - The Tribe of God Travel less than 130km （3 and half hours drive）from Taipei station The last 16 kilometer road condition was floored by cement 2/3 as at July 2019, the final stage will be fully completed before the end of the year Smangus is said to be Taiwan’s most remote Aborigines village in Taiwan The road construction only finished in 1995, while electricity connected in 1979. Total of 35 families with population of 180, they are all Christians Hiking on the 5 kilometers trail is a highlight of the trip, at the end of the trail you will be able to see the Giant Trees, the entire journey will take 5 to 6 hours, worth it.. Almost 90% of the trail is covered by the trees, so it is a very pleasant walk.
