South Garden Hotels and Resorts

Good - The room was clean and wide. There was spa in this hotel and we could use it until 10:30 pm. The breakfast was delicious. Bad - This hotel is not located in downtown.

I've stayed at South Garden multiple times in the past few years, and my family just can't get enough! My daughter loves the indoor pool/jet stream area, and my husband and I love that there is hot springs in each hotel room. There is also a children's play area, sauna, gym, and other recreational activities- no shortage of things to do for a weekend getaway. As for the food, my favorite is the Chinese restaurant (beef stew noodles, soup dumplings, scallion pancakes, etc). And the breakfast is also great with a wide variety of choices (vege from their own farm, radish cake, fresh made omelet, etc.) I would definitely recommend this resort to my family and friends!

Nice venue, banquet food was decent and service was good but could be better. Wait staff should be more proactive in offering to top up juice or asking if another bottle of wine should be opened. The style of the function hall we were in was very modern and artistic.

I've visited this hotel over the years and continue to be impressed with the improvements they've made to their facilities and restaurants. It's a great weekend getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city and is terrific for families with young kids; my 2 y/o daughter really enjoys the children's playroom, pool, and outdoor activities hosted by the hotel. The breakfast buffet is solid as well, with plenty of variety and local eats. We always look forward to visiting when we're back in Taiwan.

One of the restaurant's service could really improve. It takes way too long to get food. And the salmon salad needs more salmon! But overall the food is good and the spa facilities are excellent.

Perfect for a weekend getaway! It is only a short car ride from Taipei but I love coming here with my family for a relaxing weekend. The kids can go swimming, drive little cars in the play area or run around in the big lawn. Adults can relax at the spa. Food is also fantastic, especially the beef noodle soup and soup dumplings. Will be back!

The facilities here are very diversified. The SPA area is very big and clean. Very friendly design for kids with a specific area. And it also has the outdoor hot spring space that you can enjoy the hot spring. But some facilities are defected to use. You can also play table tennis, pool, hands football, etc. here. If the kids are under 25 kg, they can also play the electronic remote car here for free. The room space is big and the bathtub is big too. The bed is very comfortable and clean. You could enjoy the hot spring and fully relax in the room. But no indoor parking lot. And windows are not clean needs to be improved.

Good hotel and service, gym big and equipped, swimming and facilities excellent, best part of the stay were the two hot pools 39.8 and 42.8-ish(amazing!) degrees and tons of jets and spots for kids to play. No medicinal or flavored wasted hot tubs! Hotel is kids friendly with a tiny electric car ring, and big jungle gym. Our room had a big entryway, three bed setup with in-suite hot spring style tub. Comfy bed and pillows, mini fridge had free sports drinks. Bathroom area small, sink clean but looked dirty--actually part of the surface. TV old and like 24", very small. Hit the buffet 8am, it had both American and Chinese selections, tried many, lacked flavor, just OK. Usually I'd say this was a freshness issue, either precooked or stock sitting. It's bland but more so than typical fare in Taiwan. U-bike station outside, great if you're not driving as the nearest convenience store is a 10min ride away. No smokes sold on site, hotel has very limited soft drink & snack selection in lobby, didn't check room service fare. Overall the stay was pleasant, but there's many small improvements that need to be made to be worth the 4* rating and price.
