Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum

It is more modern than National Palace Museum in Taipei A lot of historical and cultural things we can see inside The architecture of the building and the view outside also very beautiful

Good to spend a whole day to visit the museum and outside.

Great space that displays historical pieces in an artistic manner. Plenty of room to enjoy the culture without bumping into other people. Just FYI, when I went (6/2020) the "cabbage and the "meat rock" were in the Taipei branch (not sure what their official names are). The gift shop have some interesting souvenirs. Also one nest thing is that they have male/female Muslim prayer rooms and a post office in the building as well. The park this museum is in is incredibly vast and well maintained. Bridge to the entrance is quite impressive as well. 10/10 would recommend spending a day here

Nice and informative musuem in Chiayi Taking around 1 hour by bus from the train station The stuffs to display is totally different from the exhibition in Taipei Really nice to come and see. The food area is really small, not spacious the outdoor space is super huge, suitable for family visiting

The Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum is located in Taibao City, Chiayi County. There are several exhibitions in this museum, in addition to permanent exhibitions, for instance, Asian textiles. You also can see some special exhibitions, such as “The Arts of the Lotus Sutra,” which is on display from January 29th to July 17th, 2022. I went to the museum on November 20th, 2021. I remember that day was a rainy day, but it did not extinguish my passion because I had been looking forward to the visit for several days! There was a unique exhibition- “Curio Boxes of the Qianlong Emperor” - at that time. This exhibition displayed a lot of small treasures which were collected by the Qianlong Emperor. This is the exhibition which is called “Curio Boxes of the Qianlong Emperor.” This is the introduction about the animals jade collectins which were collected by Qianlong Emperor in Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum. These are three pictures which I took on that day. The second and the third pictures are small animals made of jade. Contrary to the National Palace Museum in Taipei, I think the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum is more convenient for people to come and visit, and the exhibits are more suitable for ordinary people, because the exhibits there are more interesting and more relevant to our life. If you have time, you should visit this museum to see many different exhibitions. Trust me, you will not regret it!

The museum is really great especially to those people who love visiting one. The outstanding architecture itself was already awesome what more the displays inside.
