Their cakes are not sweet at all, quite a hard short crumb like pastry shell that tastes quite tasteless and dry at first, but the more you eat it or becomes moreish and addictive! Very yummy and makes for a great gift! It just felt like I was enjoying afternoon tea at a cafe as the servers there weren’t even trying to sell to me at all! Great experience ?I did end up buying some cos it was so nice!

It is a great place to chill and sip on your tea and bite on the cake :) really enjoyed chilling at this place. I see people coming in and get the complimentary set of tea and cake and then leave without purchasing anything, so no pressure. In addition, staff were extremely friendly, great great service.

They also offer a free taste of their other goods before you buy it. Best to spend time here when you are done walking around the Pier Art Center. It's somewhere at the end of the Pier, but make sure you don't miss it!

The staff are very polite and treat everyone nice and fair. They let us sit there and enjoy the cake and tea. The pineapple cakes are really yum, not too sweet. In fact, these must be the best pineapple cake I have tasted. Amazed at its quality, we decided to buy a pack of 10 (420 $NT fyi), under no pressure at all :). The staff give the impression that they don't mind if you just enjoy the free cake and tea and go.

When you walk in, you get a platter with a cup of tea and a pineapple cake for a free sample. You will end up buying one...or more. They had special red covers for the new years, along with red bag coverings! The pineapple cakes are light, buttery, and have chunky filling, with pure pineapple. It is quite different from other pineapple cakes. A must try in any city in Taiwan.

You can also have your tea refilled if you want to. Also, they can speak English if you have any inquiries. By the way, their pineapple cake taste so good and they got other flavors too like pineapple apple, strawberry apple, and apple. Though I haven't tasted their other flavors. If you're wondering about the price, I bought 10pcs pineapple cake for 450nt. It comes in a cute box, bag, and they gave a free pineapple custard mooncake with it too. The 16pcs is 700nt if I remember correctly and they have 6pcs strawberry apple cake for 360nt.

They let people try their products for free. They did not force us to buy. This is a good strategy. I would recommend you to try if you go to Kaohsuing.
