Newly recognized attractions today. Mr. Miyahara is the one who thinks of Taichung Miyahara~
The most agreeable is the concept of the target audience: senior citizens

It used to be the residence of the president of Miyahara Eye Hospital (1933). After the war, Nissan was confiscated into government assets, and it was the residence of the seven mayors of Taichung. A fusion of Japanese and Western styles, it is a masterpiece of buildings and houses during the Japanese Occupation. At present, the gate on the first floor is for Louisa to enter, and you can go around to the "Bu Lao Canteen" (Hong Dao Foundation for the Elderly) at the rear of the west side to enter and visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a wonderful and a well preserved architecture for the residence of Dr Miyahara from Japan who was the person in governance of Taichung City during the Japanese Rule. The interior is transformed to become a recreational space for charity work to sustain the premises. It is clean and the staff is very helpful. I would however love to see more of the furnitures and objects used during Miyahara's time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The building and grounds are neat, but other than a few plaques in the wall, this is longer a museum of any sort, but instead a place to promote the BuLao不老(not old) group of people. It's great that they're supporting these people, but I'd rather learn some history about the residence and the job.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A small revitalised heritage building. Don’t know why they closed the second floor and the backyard has construction, but I couldn’t reached many area to study the architecture and history of the building.
I admired the concept and spirit of Balou 不老騎士,and connecting the building/centre with the community. The volunteers there were very nice and enthusiastic.
Housing a coffee shop - coffee is good, but my sandwiches not too impressive, but staff services excellent.
