★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visit this for a local experience to a wet market. We came on a Sunday and it was pretty crowded with locals, especially the braised pork rice stall and the carrot cake (white radish). There are plenty of other popular stalls inside the market as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An old market and the to my surprise, the food pricing is not really that cheap. We bought 2 apples and it cost almost NT$160!!
There is a very small coffee shop there at the center corner of the market. He is over man operation on this tiny coffee place. Interest to see how he prepared the coffee and the skills sharing by him. Beside a nice cup of coffee, he offer some barista skill tips and funny jokes.
Nice guy and if you happened to be there, drop by and ask for a nice cup of coffee. It around Nt$60 or $70. ☕
My 5 stars is for the coffee.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of my favorite markets in Taichung, named Taichung's Second Market, is easily accessible with public transport, surrounded by historical buildings and local businesses, and has a wonderful selection of Central Taiwanese snacks. From braised pork belly and radish cakes to Wontons and pig intestines, and several buffet-style (just point) food stalls and noodle shops, the food is cheap and fresh and authentic. There are also coffee and tea shops as well as boutiques, produce markets, and several butcher shops in and around the market.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ On a Sunday afternoon, I found mostly street food, fresh fruit (good prices, quality and selection for this compared to grocery stores) cheap (lower quality) shoes and clothes and a couple craft supply (decent to good selection)
