Tainan Wude Hall - West Central District

A reinforced concrete building located on the west side of Tainan Confucian Temple, on the campus of Zhongyi Elementary School, is in good condition as a whole; in addition to being used as an auditorium for teachers and students to gather at ordinary times, kendo courses are also offered on holidays for community people to practice martial arts.

The Tainan Wude Hall was originally located on the east side of Taizheng Park (now Tang Dezhang Memorial Park), north of the Guangdong-Guangzhou Guild Hall, which is the so-called first-generation Tainan Wude Hall. After the construction of the first-generation Tainan Wude Hall was completed, it was moved to the new Wude Hall as a branch of the Tainan Wude Association. The original martial arts field was used as a shooting range for police shooting, and in August of the 12th year of the Showa era (1937 AD), the Tainan Museum of History in Anping was relocated here and opened on November 1. The name of the museum was changed to "Tainan City History". Hall". In January of the 20th year of the Showa era (1945 AD), some materials of the History Museum were moved to Chikan Tower. Therefore, at the end of World War II, the original History Museum between Weijin Qingnian Road and Kaishan Road was severely damaged by air raids. After the end of World War II in 1945, Zeng repaired and changed it to the headquarters of the Tainan City League Management District. In 1983, it was rebuilt as the Central District Office of Tainan City, and the address was No. 1 Kaishan Road, Central District, Tainan City. The second-generation Tainan Wude Hall started construction in February of the 11th year of the Showa era (1936 AD). After more than 8 months, the main buildings of the Yanwuchang and Dagongchang were completed in early October of the same year. Since Tainan Wude Hall and Tainan Shrine Outer Garden were completed at the same time, the inauguration ceremony received special attention. After the end of World War II in 1945, the organization of the Wude Society in Taiwan also disintegrated. Tainan Wude Hall also broke away from the police system and became a school education institution. In July 1946, the Tainan City Government established Tainan Municipal Middle School (now Dacheng Junior High School), with the Tainan Wude Hall as the school site during the Japanese occupation. In August 1953, Tainan Municipal Middle School changed its location with the "Fengjia National School" in Xiancaoli, Southern District (that is, "Tainan Xijian National School" during the Japanese occupation period), and the school name was changed at the same time. It was called "Central District Zhongyi National School of Tainan City", until August 1, 1968, the school name was changed to "Central District Zhongyi National Primary School of Tainan City". The original Tainan Wude Hall has become the school's auditorium.

This location is next to the Confucian Temple in Tainan, in the Zhongyi Elementary School. Students are not allowed to visit it during school hours.
