★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Powerful city, partly full of smog. White people are sometimes a real attraction, but the Taiwanese are not rude. :)
If you are rather a nature lover, 2-3 days should be enough for discovering the 'essential' parts of the city :-)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ On two separate occasions I booked tickets through Klook to go to the observatory. Both times the tickets were processed & charged online, but the Taipei 101 observatory was closed. Very disappointing.
The second time Morris, the supervisor for Taipei 101 observatory, was very apologetic and actually called Klook directly to get us a refund.
He was so kind and very customer service driven. We had a drink at Bar88 which was perfect recovery from a disappointing experience.
Look forward to one day returning to Taipei to go to the 101 observatory when the pandemic is over.

It's better to check the forecast and the visibility before to go. The outdoor observatory is closed on rainy days and the visibility is not good

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited several times but this was the best because there was no line or crowd and we went at sunset on New Years Eve. If you are a foreigner with an ARC, you can receive the local admission rate, which is quite reasonable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A romantic way to spend an evening in Taipei (as long as skies are clear. This is a great way to get your bearings and enjoy the skyline of Taipei. I advise checking sunset times before coming. And do note there is an outside platform upstairs. I was really impressed with all the scenes that they had created inside for Instagram style shots- like picnic area, angel wings, grass with light up bubbles. This is a great place to take pictures of kids as well was friends.
