Though it's a small museum, it's full of enriching history.

Great place to understand more of Taiwanese history. It will be great if they have more English translation.

Not much in English but the essentials are and you are certainly left in no doubt about the history of Taiwan. Small but eye opening museum.

Great museum explaining the history behind Japanese rule over Taiwan and the history and context of the 228 incident. 20NTD entry, exhibits have limited English, but the audio tour is free (passport/ID/1000NTD deposit). Takes an hour and a half to 2 hours.

A great place to come and learn about the 2.28 incident. At the reception, if you have some form of ID, you can borrow an audio guide. It's best to get the guide if you want to get the most out of the museum. If you do, then it's best to plan on taking about an hour to go round as the explanations are details and quite lengthy.

The museum is a dedicated one that is aimed to commemorate the 228 Incident and those that lost their lives as a result. It tells the story of the events leading up to the uprising and gives accounts of the events and its aftermath with witness testimony. There is a gift shop in the entrance area with books on the subject, many in English for those wanting to learn about the incident.

This was my second visit, and I couldn't recalled that I have been here before until I entered. Just like the 228, I knew generally how and what happened, but I still forgot some details. Right after I entered and saw that viewing room, I knew I have been here. Browsing through the regular exhibition/reminders the history was retold again.

Seeing those images and portraits really breaks my heart. Especially, the Sculpture of a couple which a woman was pregnant and a child beside her. The history really reminded us on how those people suffered from those times.
