Babes and shops. Wanna-be trendy area, over-saturated with South Korean fast fashion. Quiet a few decent restaurants and cafes for budget Nt. $250~600/ #person. ABC Mart, Adidas, Design T-Shirt retail, HOTEL V, and you know, ZARA.

Good shopping district. They got almost every thing I came for. Such as camera lens and outfits. People here are nice and helpful.

The Taipei East District is a great place to go to get many of your needs. My lovely wife and I have been there three times in the past two days to get such things as snacks, wine, and chocolate. It's rather a simple decision for anyone to consider....just go there & you will understand that what you very possibly need is right in front of you???.

Becoming less and less interesting through the recent downturn caused by the devastating Covid19 and the recession started even earlier. Plenty of vacant and deserted store fronts contribute to the sad feelings walking around the neighborhood

Nice to go around to. A lot of botiques along the road and several big shopping malls with a wide variety of items.

Lived in this area for 1.5 years. While there are things I do like, it's increasingly run down and in a clear state of decline. Yes, there are a lot of stores, restaurants and bars, but turnover is high and there are many empty storefronts with "for rent" signs. Graffiti is everywhere and the streets are not clean. Many young people smoke and spit on the streets. Cars park illegally, forcing pedestrians to walk in streets where drivers speed with little regard for their safety. There is almost no enforcement of traffic laws. As far as I can tell, the police basically don't care. During the time I lived here, the intersection below my apartment had numerous serious accidents in which scooter drivers had to be taken away on stretchers. Overall, while this was a convenient place to live, it's a great example of just about everything that's wrong with Taipei today: greedy property owners/landlords, no enforcement of traffic laws, and a very clear lack of pride among the local community. While this has a reputation as being one of Taipei's premiere districts, and the prices are in line with that, I don't think anyone who has been to a world-class city would ever consider this area to be "premiere" anything. In terms of living, if you're going to pay a premium in Taipei, Xinyi is the only district where you might be able to justify it.
