★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cultural outing, we went to see some Chinese opera. It turned out to be a mix between opera, theatre and art performance. It was very impressive to hear and see.
The singing and music was nothing like classical Western opera. The acting and costumes were beautiful. The ending of the show is maybe best described as Chinese circus combined with martial arts.
All in all very impressive and well worth the visit if you are up for something alike.

We saw lion dance, Taiwanese drum show and Peking opera. They also welcome all the visitors to take photo with the performers before and after the show.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cool Show, recommended when in Taipei, the pre activity is also very good. You can also take pictures with the actors after their show. Very accommodating staff, they will take your family picture.

I wanted to watch Chinese opera and saw that TaipeiEye puts on performances - during my visit it was 八仙过海 (Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea). I didn't have many expectations but I was blown away.
The singers were incredible, the acrobatics were super entertaining, and all in all the show was funny. I would really recommend anyone visiting Taipei to put this on their visit list!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had so much fun watching and participating their pre show. We wore traditional attire and there were face painting, replicate document, paper cutting, live Chinese instrument playing. The story had a good plot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was such a wonderful performance! One of the best parts was the preshow activities. Dressing up in the costumes, taking pictures with some of the performers, and face painting. Just some of the exciting things to do before the show!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very unique close-up experience with Chinese Opera. This place offers some very basic and easy to understand scenes in the popular Chinese Opera stories so that everyone could understand. During the intermissions or before the show, you also get to have chances to experience the costumes, makeup, and live performance. Love this place to every bits! Highly recommended for foreign visitors to come!
