Taisugar Hotel Taipei

Very good location near Ximending area. It's just diagonally across the Ximending shopping district. There is a mrt station located near the hotel. Breakfast range is wide. Value for money accommodation. Free parking for hotel guest.

First time I experience killing 6 mosquitos in a hotel in a single night ? The room is spacious enough for my family of 5 but the finishings are run down. There is a small desk with only 1 chair in the room. The bath area is like from the 80's with the shower head cracked and lining for the glass door all broken up hence water leasing into the dry area of the toilet. Even the carpet for the room seems like it has not been maintained for years

1st time experience being the bellboy. We are a group of 9 arriving by bus and yet there's not a single bellboy or concierge in sight to help with our 9 luggages. After I asked the receptionist, she unwillingly passed me the trolley and walked away. In the end I had to deliver all the luggages and saved on the tips. First time stepping into the room and there is a whiff of stale moldy air rushing into my face. It's a large spacious room but the furnishing is minimalist. Even the baby cot is so small that my 2 year old girl have to bend her knees to sleep in it. Would not recommend this hotel if you expect a decent hotel stay in a hotel supposedly belonging to a big conglomerate in Taiwan. Day 1 of 3.

The hotel room is quite big, clean having a king-size comfortable bed. The location of the hotel is excellent with plenty of taxis, buses, shops and restaurants around the hotel. The hotel staffs are really unbelievable kind, friendly and helpful during our 31 day's stay in the Taisugar Hotel Taipei. Definitely and truly that is the main reason we are going back to stay in this hotel again at the end of October. Thumbs up and 5 stars for the Taisugar Hotel Taipei.

The hotel sits at an ideal location as it's just diagonally opposite 西门町. Besides that, there's nothing to rave about the hotel - it's just adequate. However, the food served at breakfast needs improvising. Change the variety or presentation will help make a difference.

Unhappy about: 1) Paid for a classic triple room but was given a small twin room with extra metal bed. Reason given was "we ran out of bedrooms" although I booked 4 months before the date. And the website shows that classic triple room was still available. Not much space to walk (only the empty space in between the beds and TV. Only 1 person can open their luggage at a time and the rest can only sit on the bed. 2) Bed flipped when I sat at the end of the bed trying to remove my stuff. Room was pitch dark because they unplugged the lamp to put in the extra metal bed. The only light comes from the light mounted to the wall on top of the TV. The lights near the bed were all malfunctioned and cannot be operated. We had to use the portable light we brought in our luggage. 3) The plugs near the TV was also malfunctioned and was not able to charge anything. 4) Called the reception for help but took hours to come up. Receptionist told us to move the bed by ourselves and will only remove the metal bed (which we requested due to safety reason. we can possibly get injured by the bed that flips) with reason "staff off duty". To increase the brightness in the room, all 3 of us had to squeeze in two beds by pushing the two singles beds together. 5) Staff did not communicate: when asked on stuff, their reply was "this is not in charge by our department". 6)Morning breakfast at hotel was also horrible. One coffee machine is totally spoil and the other one malfunction after every single cup of coffee made. Staff repair the coffee machine and visitors had to wait a long time. Not much variety of food. 7) Also noticed they have two different lift area. One near receptionist, one at the back of the hotel with a security guard. Apparently they restrict the visitors to use which lift. Those who are for "Business trip" uses the big lift at the back while visitors like us are forced to only use the front lift. It actually links to the same level. 8) It was actually my mother's birthday and we wanted to get a cake and celebrate with her, probably get her something she wants at xi mending. But due to the staff attitudes, their speed of work and other situation mentioned above, we ended up starving and can only go to McDonald to eat. We only managed to shop a while for items my brother requested for us to bring back and didn't managed to walk more. Happy about: 1) The only good thing about it is the location. We can get to xi mending simply by crossing the traffic light or by underpass. Subway was directly opposite the hotel. Conclusion: Unlike their motto of "Make yourself at home", I don't think anyone's home and room is so dark, has several malfunctioned things, spoiled coffee machine and a bed that flips every time you sit. Note: We managed to get a change of room next day after making a fuss the night before and the next morning and our Taiwan agent (who helped us partially with the trip) negotiated with them. I have attached the image for review. Felt upset on at the hotel and was also upset at myself for choosing the hotel and causing my mum to unable to celebrate her birthday. Edit: Forget to mention that the bathroom's tap was broken. The metal came out and we have to plug it back in by ourselves to use (because it takes too long for the service to fix).

It was a good hotel. The location is ok, fairly spacious room, though a little outdated. I’m giving a low star rating because I don’t understand why they have to be strict with the check-in time. Sometimes people are just too tired. We arrived early (hours before check in), and we were told that we can’t check in and this is understandable as usually the rooms are not clean yet. We stepped out to have lunch and walk around the area. We got back in the hotel’s reception 10 minutes before check in time, and we were still not allowed to check in. Everyone had to wait on the dot of the check in time.

This restaurant's location is very convenient to get to. The restaurant is on second floor. It is very nice and clean. The service is good. But, the food is so so today. I only like their ice bars, red beans and peanuts. I hope next time I can enjoy more. By the way, I add them to my LINE and they gave me a ten percent discount. Very good deal.
