★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 位於太平國小對面的竹林茶坊，經過太平吊橋後即步上孝子路步道，因沿途遍佈孟宗竹，故取二十四孝故事中的「孟宗哭筍」，命名為「孝子」。
翠綠的孟宗竹林夾道，有如來到武俠片的場景之中，林相十分優美靜謐，約15分即可抵達孝思亭。
除了竹林茶坊入口外，雲之南道附近也有一處入口，如果不想走太遠的話，可以一進一出繞一圈。
#阿里山山脈越嶺步道大串走(2019/1)
Located opposite the Taiping Elementary School, the Bamboo Forest Tea House, after passing the Taiping Suspension Bridge, walked onto the Xiaozi Road Trail. Because there are bamboos scattered along the way, the "Meng Zong crying bamboo shoots" from the twenty-four filial piety story was named "filial piety".
The verdant Mengzong bamboo grove is like a scene in a martial arts movie. Lin Xiang is very beautiful and quiet. You can reach Xiaosi Pavilion in about 15 minutes.
In addition to the entrance to the Bamboo Forest Tea House, there is also an entrance near Yunzhinan Road. If you don't want to go too far, you can go in and out and make a circle.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 步道路維護的很好，輕鬆好走。竹林比較稀疏，有點像是中年禿髮版的京都嵐山竹林之道。步道入口在裝置藝術的右側，加上路口有攤販在賣水果，不是很明顯，一不留神很容易錯過。去的當日（110.12.02）步道出口「竹林茶房」在整修封閉，入口處也沒有標示，除非原路走回，要不然是走不出來，後來是從旁邊的小縫鑽爬出來。（已請太平雲梯遊客中心轉達相關單位）
The trails are well maintained and easy to walk. The bamboo forest is relatively sparse, a bit like the way of the bamboo forest in Kyoto's Arashiyama for middle-aged baldness. The entrance of the trail is on the right side of the installation art, and there are vendors selling fruits at the intersection. On the day I went (110.12.02), the trail exit "Bamboo Forest Tea House" was closed for renovation and there was no sign at the entrance. Unless I walked back the same way, I could not get out. Later I crawled out through a small seam next to it. (Taiping Yunti Visitor Center has been asked to convey to relevant units)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 太平老街走到底就是孝子路步道，入口有廁所，沿路都是竹林，我們也當了一回高風亮節的風雅文士，沿途竹子高聳，幾乎曬不到太陽，感覺很不錯，沿途大部份是樓梯，會經過一個吊橋，繞一圈走出去比較靠近太平雲梯停車場，因為我媽不想走步道，所以我們走到涼亭，沿著原路回去，差不多半小時左右!
At the end of Taiping Old Street is the Xiaozi Road Trail. There are toilets at the entrance and bamboo forests along the road. We also became a splendid and elegant scholar. Along the way, the bamboos are towering and there is almost no sunlight. It feels very good. Most of the way is stairs. , will pass a suspension bridge, walk around and walk out closer to the Taiping ladder parking lot, because my mother doesn't want to walk on the trail, so we walk to the pavilion and go back along the original road, about half an hour!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 步道入口處有洗手間，外面整理的很乾淨漂亮，向上走不遠可以過一個小型吊橋，但過了吊橋另一邊步道就比較原始。
There is a toilet at the entrance of the trail, and the outside is very clean and beautiful. You can cross a small suspension bridge not far up, but the trail on the other side of the suspension bridge is relatively primitive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 車停在太平國小路旁，先上公廁，再走步道，正常速度約半小時，先穿過一條吊橋，接下來都在竹林裡的水泥棧道，最後接到雲之南步道，或回走到太平老街。早上遮陰率約八成，下午遮陰率約七成。
