A very characteristic tunnel, with a dark hole in the distance. As the car drives forward, light gradually penetrates in, and there is a sense of sudden and brightness in an instant.

The tunnel left over from the Japanese occupation period is very special and very similar to the tunnel of the God hidden girl. The most special one is that it has been preserved from the original Japanese era, so it can only be opened to traffic in one-way and two directions. You must first make sure that the object is not coming at the tunnel entrance. Go in, it's very special.

Originally in the early days of the Japanese occupation, the Japanese government ordered the Amis people to dig through the Mashalini Mountains, and use the culvert to divert the water from the upper stream of the Mawu Cave Creek to irrigate the farmland in the Xiaoma area. It was completed in 1929 (Showa 4) and called Xiaoma Pi. Shenzhen (Pizhen is a Japanese character, that is, Shuizhen). Later, in order to improve the external traffic in the Taiyuan Basin, the Japanese government forced the Amis to continue to manually expand the culvert to become a tunnel for people and vehicles, which was completed in 1932. After Taiwan's recovery, it was called Taiyuan Tunnel by the Highway Bureau, and it is the only highway tunnel in Taitung County. The residents of Chenggong believed that the tunnel was located in the Xiaoma section, and it was called Xiaoma Pizhen in the early years, but the Taiyuan Tunnel, which was renamed after Taiwan's liberation, was inappropriate. The elder Wang Hesheng actively provided information. At the 8th temporary meeting of the 17th session of the 17th, the town representatives passed the case of "The tunnel should be renamed Xiaoma Tunnel" and requested the Chenggong Town Office to handle it. The Town Office renamed the tunnel the Xiaoma Tunnel in October 2004, and erected a monument on the left side of the East Exit. The pony tunnel is about 3.5 meters wide, 3.75 meters high and 230 meters long. Except for the two ends which were slightly refurbished and coated with cement after Taiwan's recovery, the rest retain traces of artificial excavation.
