★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I came here for health checkup, so I’m commenting on their health management section. First of all, they are good at taking crappy snapshot. Overly dark, with poor contrast, mapped with noisy grain, “portrait” taken by shaky handheld compact camera. It makes you look like someone just out of the boat. As for the nurses here, most of them don’t talk, they ordered. You as a patience, for what purpose you are here, are to be told or demanded to fulfill some kind of mandatory tasks. The instructions were given with an attitude high up there as if they were supreme lord looking down at you. The real governor behind all this, please spare a bit attention to your medical assistants just to put into practice your institution motto, SHARE.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not the best place to go. Yesterday I went there with a hearing lose of one ear, doctor checked and he couldn't find anything which is obviuos and he just sent me home, but I still can't hear with one of my ears. I wonder, if it's normal here to send patient home not solving his ploblem or not even trying to figure out what happened and what may be the reason of losing hearing ability?! Very disappointing!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I LOVE this hospital!!! I have been to several different hospitals in the area, and this is the only one with a relaxing, pleasant atmosphere. It has a warm, cozy feel in contrast to the other cold, sprawling hospitals. The waiting areas have comfortable, cushioned seating — which I don't recall seeing anywhere else — and the spiral staircase totally adds a homey touch!
On top of that, the people are so nice! They treat you like a human. I was particularly wowed by the nurse who took my blood there yesterday. Being a fainter, I must always be lying down to get blood drawn — and then do my best to try to get through it without letting the unpleasant stage that precedes fainting get triggered. This is already a challenge, but it definitely doesn't help when — as is usually the case — the nurse attending to me is completely indifferent, or possibly even annoyed. But for the first time ever, the nurse drawing my blood was so sweet and caring; the unexpectedly-great experience totally made my day! She covered me with a blanket, sweetly told me not to worry, gently prepped my arm after comparing both of them, told me to take a breath before starting, and checked how I was halfway through (surprisingly a first). I am SO GRATEFUL to that wonderful nurse for understanding just what I needed and being so sweet about it. This is definitely the hospital for people like me who appreciate warm-hearted, caring staff!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I won't come here unless I am going to die and have no other option, they will do their best to take as much money as they can while your well being will be next in priority after money. Of course there's some doctors who are exception that's why I said I will come only if I have no other option.
Ward nurses are sometimes lazy and sometime arrogant ,... few are nice and caring,
We stayed one week in this hospital, not even once any worker came to clean the floor as if it is the patient responsibility to clean the floor of the room.
The hospital at least should put a sign on the hospital door or website “ to all patients, please bring your floor wipes with you ??”
and there are ants and very bad mosquitos inside the patient rooms ???
I simply hate this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I saw the urologist Leonard S. Chuech (闕舜仁) twice, and I feel like to some degree he fit the stereotype of Taiwanese doctors being very clinical and not caring enough about patients as individuals. The first time I went in, he ordered a lab test because I explicitly requested it. I then went in for a follow-up appointment regarding some lab results, and he initially provided only the bare minimal information analyzing the results. I had to explicitly ask many additional questions about the issue as he didn't provide all the information he could have provided. I feel like there are things he should have checked that he did not.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was travelling to Taipei and I had an an urgent medical condition. I needed to see a doctor, but I could only speak a few words of Chinese.
I was worried when I walked into the hospital. I've heard that medical care in Taiwan involves an endless series of queues. I was afraid I would get lost in the vast hospital complex.
I spent around 20 minutes trying to find the special clinic for foreigners. I eventually realized I needed to go to the third floor and take the bridge to the other building.
A foreign hospital can seem chaotic, but International Priority Care Center was an oasis of calm. The clinic has a comfortable waiting area with upmarket furnishings and foreign language newspapers.
After walking in, I was greeted by an English speaking receptionist and invited to sit down for registration. The process was seamless and the paperwork took about 20 minutes. I took a seat in the waiting area and read the Taipei Times.
When it was time for my appointment, an English speaking nurse walked me to an examination room in another wing of the hospital. I went directly to the exam room, bypassing the maze of queues.
The doctor spoke adequate English, but the nurse was on standby to translate. It took the doctor about 5 minutes to diagnose the condition and perform the required injection.
After I was done with the doctor, the nurse walked me back to international clinic. Along the way she explained that the doctor used a British English term for my condition, but that Americans would call it by another name.
Unfortunately, the clinic was not able to directly bill my employer's international health insurance. I needed to see a doctor, so I decided to just pay upfront and try to get reimbursed later.
I was shocked a the final bill: just~ $120 USD. I expected to pay far more, but the Taiwan Adventist Hospital provided excellent care at a fraction of the cost of an American Hospital.
