氣象站雖然海拔不高，但負責偵測大台北地區氣象中雨水的含量，悠關民生用水及農作用水，並且防止氣候變化，豪雨成災，全年每天24小時無休的控管。
每年歲末之秋冬，在氣象站三角埔頂山開滿芒草浪花，迎風摇曳美不勝收，此時之際整座山區擠滿人群，都是為了一睹芒花飄浪，實在令人心情愉悦，想要欣賞芒花趕緊來看，若是錯過要再等一年。
