★ ★ ★ ★ ★ No real Museum, just a shop with a cafe and one small exhibition room with nothing in other language than Chinese.
1 staff spoke (basic) English and was helpful in explaining roughly the "history" of the cake.
Price for "original sun cake" 50% more expensive (35$) then at other places.
Not worth to go imho.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There's not much to see in the museum itself. Upstairs there's an exhibition on the history of sun cakes, but downstairs there is a kitchen where you can book a DIY sun cake tutorial. The tutorial was fun and easy to follow. We learned a lot more about sun cakes through making it than through the upstairs museum. We got to take home the sun cakes we made in an adorable box all for a fair price. I believe that tutorials need to be booked ahead of time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First time I visit a museum entirely dedicated to a "dessert", this museum is dedicated to the popular Taiwanese dessert Sun Cake, It is a pastry filled with condensed sugar, it is not ideal for slimming but it is very tasty. This place is fun. I recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Actual museum itself is on the second floor. Small exhibition room shows the history of the sun cake but unfortunately it's all in Chinese.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It’s on the second floor with a different opening hours - check before visit.
The owner was there when I visited and he gave us a wonderful introduction of the history/architecture of the building itself, the different type of traditional cakes in Taiwan now vs the past, as well as the different other historical buildings in Taichung.
