★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is a fact that this is no longer the famed Danshui market we loved in the past. The current version is a sad she'll of itself. While food here was somewhat overrated in the past it was still very good. Now it's just serve generic, lesser version of night market stuff. If you are not from Taiwan and you happen to be near by then feel free to spend 10 minutes here and said you been here. If not from Taiwan skip this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A major traditional market in Tamsui. Lots of local foods and local shops hidden in a 3 narrow but long allies. It is a good opportunity to closely watch how local people live, what they eat, how they make a living.
Tamsui was used to a fishing village. But when more and more people came and lived here, the legacy living style has gradually changed. Where did the legacy go? You can find the clue from this market if you mingle with the old shop owners. You can lean a lot of stories and have friendship through the interaction.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome? Awesome! So much stuff to choose from, so many different vendors. The products vary from clothes to raw meat to shoes to chopsticks to blankets. The "staff" is always very welcoming and are very comfortable with helping at all times.
