It's clean and relaxed. Staff seems knowledgeable, and happy. It's a tough job to do well. They're doing the best they can, considering the stray dog population out there......

First of all I just want to make it clear - this is a NO-KILL SHELTER. They don’t have that info on their website, so I had to make sure in-person. Generally adoption process is quite easy here. They update their website pretty often and you can always see if they got any new animals. About staff - I want to say that the reason previous reviews are so different (some say staff is very rood and some say it is friendly) is because there are both polite and rude people working there, so it depends on who you will have to deal with. I worked in no-kill shelters myself in USA and have a lot of experience working with animals. So what I found alarming and upsetting is that staffs main goal is to get animals adopted no matter what and they are not trying to match people with right animals. What’s even worse is that they purposely do not include some important info about animals because are worried that if they put that info out it will take longer to get animals adopted. For example: they had a border collie, which they didn’t identify as a collie and just called her a mixed dog. For those of you who doesn’t know - border collies are EXTREMELY HYPER. They are probably one of the most difficult breeds to own that require tones of time, experience and energy. This is NOT a first time owner dog and people need to know what are they getting into. But when I told them about it they said they don’t want people to think that she has some problems. They did know that she is very hyper ( she is a classic border collie ), but didn’t mention anything about that. However they do have many great and friendly dogs. A lot of different age puppies and adult dogs. So if you decide to adopt a dog from there ask as many questions about the dog. Ask how energetic it is, how is it doing with other dogs and people etc. Make sure to spend some time with a dog and take it to a walk to see how energetic it is and if you can handle it. Don’t blindly trust what they tell you about the dog - ask many questions and watch the dog behavior carefully. Most of dogs are vaccinated and neutered. But you should still make sure what they have done and bring your animal to a vet for a general check-up. Shelter itself is quite away from the city and pretty smelly inside, but on the bright side they have a lot of animals in different kinds and sizes.
