I enjoy the cheesecake from my childhood. For sure a great choice from time to time. Both cheese cake and cheese pie are worthy of choosing, different tasting and both enjoyable.

I was so suprised when my friend had took me there. I don't think it is a restaurant or bakery when I stand outside. Oh, it seems old store and furniture. there are almost sweets from chocolate, cheese cake to candy... I don't sit here, just buy some cake and go. A display of this store is ugly, they put cakes into plastics, then put them on tray and display in fridge. And u know, the glass of fridge is too old, and I can't see cakes inside clearly. Their cakes are ok, nothing special.

I like the original one more than else. The blueberry tastes like moose instead.

I'm guessing this place must have recently changed ownership as literally everything I tried here wasn't worthy of a 3 star review, let alone 4.1 stars. The soup was like a lightly corn scented starchy slurry. Wurst and sauerkraut was the worst I've probably ever had. I couldn't eat one of the links the skin was so chewy. All were devoid of moisture and full of filler. Risotto with red sauce was overcooked and red sauce was redolent of ketchup. Curry puff wasn't very flaky and filling was, again, flat and flavorless. Most in our party of 6 left at least half of their portions uneaten. I'd heard that the cheesecake was a specialty and was excited to try it. After the disappointing other dishes, my heart literally sank when I took the first and only bite of "blueberry cheesecake" tasted like a gelatin block of floury sadness. I guess they're saving on food cost because I didn't taste cheese or any dairy flavors, nor any eggy richness that is the hallmark of even a decent cheesecake. Milk powder? Not sure, but nowhere close to even a Cheesecake Factory pie, let alone any decent NYC rendition. The blueberry gelee on top tasted more like Smucker's grape jelly. I also tried the "chocolate cheesecake" but it was clearly the same flavorless gelatin base had been blended with a light Hershey's like chocolate flavor. I wanted to like this place as, from the outside, it evokes an old world feel, but I feel like I was a fool for choosing it having passed by on several occasions and not seeing anyone inside. I won't make that mistake again and am posting this review to prevent others from sharing the same experience.

Old school American desserts. I like the cheesecake fingers they do (起司餅) and I actually fold a slice of bread around 1 and have that as a snack. Give it a go!

This restaurant looks good from the outside. We only had a drink there, it was so watery and flavorless.

I came twice. Both times they overcharged me. Very noticeably. Today when I challenged them (45 +70 is NOT 125) they repeatedly showed no willingness to sort it out (5 minutes of discussion). After 8 years in Taiwan, I can’t remember any other place that overcharged me. I would suggest to all foreigners to go some place else. I don’t bear them any ill will. It’s just, awful customer service should perhaps be discouraged…

Having passed by this place several times, I was interested by the aged decor, which gave an impression of a hearty owner offering time tested craft. With a name like 吃吃看 (≈try & see), it entreats us in the sincerest way possible. Seeing such high ratings on Google, we were excited to finally try it out. Alas! The restaurant food is downright horrible. (Have photos to speak for themselves) We had two pastas: stingy portions, watery sauce, bland taste. The service was remarkably frigid (the despair on the kid's face foretold the food quality). The soup tasted like they put too much flour (and milk powder perhaps?), that some settled at the bottom, and they put a small piece of extremely stale bread in the middle which completely ruined the palate. The sausage plate had a few links that tasted very gamey and evidently not fresh/high quality. Everything was so immediately regrettable that we couldn't convince ourselves otherwise even if we wanted to. Despite our hunger after a long day, we struggled to finish the tiny portions of inedible mess that we wished we didn't order. A light service day with no other ordering customers, the server was nowhere to be found other than when he was delivering the food. He still somehow managed to turn off the light to a portion of the service floor, while we were still eating. (it's barely past 6PM) It felt as if the shop was already closing, and the staff couldn't wait to leave. I had to go to the kitchen to find a lone guy (the chef?), smoking (!) and staring at a laptop screen playing video, to get the napkins that they never gave us. I had to go find the water at the service station and refill it myself because nobody was around. We sincerely hoped that the desserts would be the redemptive part of our experience. We ordered a cheesecake and a black forest. The cheesecake was recommended as their favorite. Having lived in NYC and had my fair share of cheesecakes from Italian bakeries big and small, I knew enough to not have unrealistic expectations. Nevertheless, what they served us was beyond disappointing. It's simply not cheesecake. The "cake" tasted like they put gelatin (!) into a flour mix, while the texture and taste of cream cheese was almost entirely missing! Whatever it was, it's not even enjoyable. It's obvious that they skimped on the ingredients, and the concoction was nothing short of a scam. How there's any raves for their "cheesecake" is beyond me. Even frozen Cheesecake Factory from Costco would have way more legitimacy than this. The entire experience had doused cold and stinking water over our enthusiasm for this old shop. It felt like a place that already gave up, and the people in there simply didn't care anymore. It was such a let down that we had to go to the brightly lit fried chicken shop a few doors down to get some junk food, just to fill that horrible emptiness we contracted from this place. As much as we wanted to have loved it, we would not squander our appetite or money here again for another "try".
