I only tried corn cakes (60NT) with Burmese milk tea because I had other meals that day. The whole thing is really broken corn and sprinkled with powdered sugar, which is very special. Because two words, coffee and food. --- --- --- If you have those two things and do them well, it's pretty much pre-determined that I'm going to be handing out 5-stars. The coffee here is strong, delicious, and pure. I could taste the coffee beans, the milk (your choice), together and separately. It just tasted fresh. It wasn't the least bit burnt or flavorless. It was creamy. It was a really good latte. Simple latte. One of the best lattes I had during my trip in Asia. Special shout out to my barista, Merida, for making my latte extra strong! Now the food here is beyond INCREDIBLE. Came on a Saturday morning at 10 and was seated within minutes. The service was fast despite of shortage in staffing and the decor is modern/well decorated for hours of work. Do yourself a favor and get the house special stir-fried minced pork over rice noodles. It's an understatement when I say I can eat this for lunch 5 days a week. It's a perfect blend of savory and spice, and the rice noodles is wonderfully rich. Pro tip - Get there before 1PM or they may sold out if you get there too late. = = = = Summary I'm absolutely going to return to Thanaka Coffee next time I'm in Taiwan. Overall, the stylish ambiance of this establishment combined with the amazing coffee, great treats, and a menu of Burmese fusion savory items help make for a stellar experience. Highly recommend this place!
