THE LIN

It was a busy week and I only started sourcing for a weekend 13-14/11 stay in Taichung on Wednesday. Shocking to know that most good hotels were fully booked. A local friend managed to get a special reservation into the Lin. We were thrilled. The quality LIN service is felt upon arrival. The friendly door man was helpful. He attended to my 3 girls to ensure that they are out of harm's along the driveway. He led us to the reception. The front desk was efficient in processing the check in. She apologised that our room could only to be ready at 2.30. However, lounge amenity was available for us on both the ground floor and on the 25th. At the ground LIN bar, the Assistant Manager Mr 林 Was kind and quick to suggest that we use the bar instead of the 25th floor lounge as there is a big open garden area that our 3 kids may prefer. He is right! The lady staff Miss Joy there took the trouble to patiently explain and allowed us to pick and select the sumptous afternoon tea spread of pattries and snacks. We enjoyed ourselves enormously. It was a cool windy afternoon. The room is spacious and clean. Beds very comfy. We dialed the operator to ask for a cake shop nearby to buy a cake for our twins for the 6th birthday. While chatting, I joked about a cake compliment from the hotel. Within a minute ending the call, she called us to inform us that a fresh cake will be arranged and send to our room in the late evening. This is really delightful. This is what hospitality textbook called "wow" factor. These simple gestures made the LIN service a class above the rest. The quick response and differentiated personal services demonstrate the empowerment of the management and your commitment to customer satisfaction. Thank you for the special weekend. You are one of the BEST, May be on par or better than international hotel chains. I believe I am qualified to say that as I am a Titanium elite of Marriott Bonvoy and Spire ELITE of IHG. All the best to service team The LIN. Do continue to provide hotel makers a good night rest and staycation experience. Keep up the great effort.

Servers are good. But the breakfast is nothing for real, no meat, no fish, nothing I really want to take. 'm not a veggie so cannot accept this.

A good try to be the Vegas Wynn..but from the entry ceiling of driveway has not been cleaned probably since the beginning, room was good and clean, breakfast a total zoo with too many people on Sunday morning, they sell breakfast buffet to outside , and I saw some people even put pastry in their bag to take home...they should create a separate area for hotel guest breakfast and then general public, swimming pool design too small of area coverd by walls not an open feeling.. these are my observations having traveled many places in the world.

The room was clean and comfortable and the pool was nice. However….,HOW MANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS DO YOU NEED TO GET ABOUT YOUR ELEVATORS BEFORE YOU FIX THE PROBLEM!?!? This is definitely not a 5 star hotel by any international standard.

Nice and clean hotel. Service quality however needs improvement. The price range the Lin Hotel charges, puts it at very high end for the Taichung area. The service one gets here does not justify the price paid. Biggest disappointment is that room service simply shut down early (the hotel says room service is available until 12:00 mid night). Tried to order simple room service at 10:00pm, was told only drinks were available, but could not order any solid food. A big let down. First time this has happened to me at a 5 start hotel.

We had a great time staying at The Lin Hotel, and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting the city. Everything about the hotel was top notch, and all of the facilities were great. Everyone in our party loved the breakfast options. The pool area and fitness center are also great. Overall, would absolutely recommend people stay here.

For the price they charge, not worth it. A super disappointing stay because of the following reasons: 1. The elevator takes forever all the time, and is way too small. Ridiculous waiting times. 2. The breakfast is very mediocre and the decor in the dining hall is cheap and tasteless. 3. Stood with no lineup at checkin with 5 staff at the counter, yet no one helped to check us in until 10 min later. 4. The bedding had stains on them, and there wasn’t even any bedside charging sockets. 5. Booked a room for 4 adults - the two queen beds are way too small. 6. Service is terrible. Came to breakfast and had to FIND someone to let us in. Staff started to clear our table before we even finished eating. It’s unfortunate as it’s supposed to be the best choice in Taichung. Hopefully another higher quality option will be available soon.

Benissimo! So good hotel! Such a good service. So clean rooms. Such a great breakfast. Beds are comfy and rooms are a total pamper. I liked this place from the moment I entered. Really zero problems here. A perfect stay. Good for business, family trips or gateway with friends.
