Tashee Westin has been one of my favorites for gateways in Taiwan since its opening. However, the latest stay was very disappointing. I understand that the hotel is operating under covid restriction measures for the safety of everyone. But the management didn't provide adequate countermeasures to accommodate the changes. The idea of a take-out buffet is a total disaster. Not only did the food provided is made of inferior quality ingredients, the food is already cooled by the time we brought to the room. It is totally not environmentally friendly and against the hotel’s green earth policy with so many packaging used and wasted. The hotel didn't provide a place for us to dine in the room. We had to either sit right in front of TV, sagging sofa at the side, or right on the bed to dine. Dinner at Lixuan Chinese Restaurant the 2nd night was much better, still first dish was served after 40 minutes of waiting. I was also very surprised to find out that Tashee Westin, as a member of the renowned international chained hotels, only has two local TV news channels for occasional Tokyo Olympics live streaming. I thought I could enjoy Tokyo Summer Olympics at Tashee Westin but instead I had to watch it from my mobile during the stay. The hotel compensated the insufficiency with free Switch rental for kids. But it’s a shame that I missed many of the Olympic games during my stay. The hotel doesn’t have a well-planned housekeeping policy during covid restrictions. With the closure of many hotel facilities, we were only left with either go out to playground or wait at lobby lounge for housekeeping. No one wanted to go out in the midst of the summer heat, nor did we want to eat/drink anything at lobby lounge since we just had breakfast but there is a minimum charge for a drink per person. The front desk had later agreed to waive drink requirement for us to wait at lobby lounge. The room was not well maintained either. We stayed at a family room at the second night and the shower drainage was clogged causing drain water to back up into the bathroom with just few minutes of shower. It happened almost midnight while my kids were asleep already, so I cleaned up flooding myself. The hotel gave me a box of cookies as an apology for what had happened when I checked out. But I just cannot accept it. I don’t think a box of cookies can make me feel better for what I had to go through in the middle of night cleaning up drainage problem.

Due to Covid-19, there are still many restrictions during our stay. It is not worth to pay such amount for this hotel during this time. However, the staff is excellent, well trained. About Food: SEASONAL TASTES, it is not worth now because of Covid-19 restrictions. Only allow to pack back to your room. I believe it is good once the operation back to normal. LIXUAN CHINESE RESTAURANT, one of the finest decoration restaurants I have ever met. It allows eat-in now. The most important, the food, is excellent, amazing. I definitely will eat again when I visit this hotel next time.

Do not recommend for couples or solo travelers. Although I experienced for the most part friendly staff during the stay, the hotel policies seem to want to charge for small requests such as extra coffee packets. As a gold member I was not automatically given an upgrade but had to request it during the check in process and breakfast was not provided. The happy hour was nothing to be happy about it was pretty much just popcorn, tea, soda and beer. The grounds were nice but some parts of the hotel has started to show its age. All the amenities such as the mini golf, basketball area and race car areas were pretty unique features. The room itself was clean and nice with good space. Unfortunately there must have been some kids in the room right above us so we had a constant banging throughout our stay up until midnight. I would say for the value/price this hotel has become a little overpriced for the quality and would not recommend this place for couples or solo travelers.

This is the second time my family visited this resort. The first time was back in June 2020, and kids simply loved it. But things took a sharp turn, maybe it was due to COVID, or maybe it was something else. The hotel was over priced to start with. We redeemed the annual free nights from credit card, and choose to upgrade to an executive room. The upgrading price effectively doubles the room price (regular room was about 9000NTD/night, and we had to pay another 9240NTD/night for the executive suite). And to make things worse, since it was a “redeemed” room, breakfast was not included, not even for Bonvoy Gold members. The room itself was nice though, clean, and spacious, with a nice resort view. But the phone line was very busy, took me over 10 tries to get through the phone line to order room service. Kids were hungry and tired, didn’t want to go downstairs to the buffet, and to my surprise, we had to wait! After 50 minutes, and after I finally got through the phone line, they said they were finally getting to my order, and promised it would be delivered in the next 10 minutes, the food came in 20 minutes. Overall, I really think this hotel is a bit overrated, with the price, poor buffet offering (probably due to COVID), and just the logistics in general. Kids were pestering me to go back since last summer, we did just that, and now I think it is time to move on.

Well... NT$ 14'301 for one night with dinner and breakfast for two. There is nothing to complain about the staff we've met, starting from the curbside, the check-in and the restaurant. All absolutely friendly, helpful and professional. Ok - the uniforms looked like 20 years old. A stain here and there, a torn seem and a look like stone washed. This is not the issue of the person itself, but of the management. But there is another, more serious issue with the staff: The cooks in the "Seasonal Tastes" buffet restaurant are not really aware, that they are working in an open kitchen! Sure - they have fun and they communicate. But in a way which is far away from professional. They are loud and obviously totally unaware of the fact, that all guests can see and - more annoying - hear them. This unprofessional behaviour is also reflected in the food they prepare. It is a buffet, full of nice varieties, but everything appears like it was cooked a few days ago! Everything (except the Indian section of the buffet) is dry, overcooked and it looks just not fresh. It is most likely cooked on a budget (which is understandable in current times), but still, an educated chef should be able to enhance appearance and taste, even if the ingredients are not from highest quality. Also the replenishment of the dishes was more than slow! Although there were many kitchen staff present, it looked like none of them were in charge to refill empty plates or even empty glove dispenseres. Charging NT$ 1'200 for an adult is overpriced and the CP is as low as it can be. For food and kitchen I definitely issue a 1-Star review. The management should provide some training! The room was nice. Many nice details. But many nice details also need many detailed cleaning! If there is not enough time to clean and keep the agreed check-in time at 3pm, then it would probably help to remove some items from the room and allow the room service staff to focus better. Just one example is that orange box. I couldn't find out, for what use it should be. But I could find out by opening it up, that many many guest before us used this box to store cookies, chocolate and probably socks or similar items. The leftovers were still in that box. Birds on the balcony leave their signs of existence too.... The Westin provides something for everybody - but unfortunately not much for us. We are not really interested in sitting at the pool bar and watching our phones. But there is no other way to spend the time at the pool bar, because a normal conversation is impossible due to such loud music pouring out of huge speakers. Drinks and fruit platters are pricy too! We had to go back to our room to continue our chat. And probably because everything is a bit expensive, you have to pay a deposit upon check-in! Obviously the management had bad experience with guests just departing without paying??? This was never mentioned during the reservation process, nor in any of the confirmation mails. Unusual and surprising - but, as we already arrived, there is not much to do against such a measure of mistrust. This Resort-Hotel isn't for us! It is also not for you, if you are looking for a relaxed over-night stay, away from business stress and to relax for an evening at the pool bar during happy hour after a nice cosy dinner. Oh - happy hour is also weird. It's only for beer. Wine and other nice drinks are just discounted or even exempt. To compensate this, a DJ is providing even louder music which you can enjoy back there in your room too. But The Westin is definitely for you, if you like to go swimming with your kids, hang around and show to the world what you have. And to make it clear: This is my very personal opinion and I do not want to harm the business. There are thousands of other who like this style and who will book here again and again. This is great, because The Westin deserves to exist and it is an important employer for the region. Wish you all the best and thank you for having us.

Great place to take the kids for a weekend of fun while the adults get in some golf. There are plenty of amenities for the kids outdoors. Unfortunately for us, we came when it was raining. But the kids still had fun in the indoor playground and swimming pool. The only major compliant is the lack of vegetarian options for the dinner buffet. They were nice enough to prepare special veggie options, but they didn't have it at the buffet, which was disappointing.

A really satisfying visit for some reasons, nice pool, nice room and few visitors. First thing first, they really need to improve the front desk employee, at first we don’t feel this would be a nice stay since the check in employee is really indifferent and have not interest in making the communication effective and informative. She is just like hospital reception (some may be even better), and not interested in proving is correct direction for the elevator and leave us exploring :) The pool both outside and inside are really nice and relaxing, we do have a lot of good times there and it’s really good that they provide mosquito repellent. The sauna is nice although it might but a bit too hot, and the film is just adding nice vibe to the pool. Also, this place provided a lot of features that can attract more families including carousel, slide, mini golf and karting. We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel, the food just doesn’t look really attractive here maybe because not so much visitors on Friday during COVID. However, they taste good enough and they’re included in our stay (nothing to complain about). The workers in the restaurant are really friends and they clean very fast. For the happy hour, I think it’s good to have beer and drinks but mostly is to enjoy the atmosphere. There seem to attract all the guests so there’s a lot of people there, and I would say the hot drink is good, probably because the weather is a bit cool. The room is clean, the balcony is pretty, the bathtub is nice and the service is fast. The bed is a bit soft for me and they don’t have enough latex pillow (which is fine…) The view from the balcony is really nice and this is a really good stay although there’s some disappointments in the text.

We stayed for 2 nights. Check in was smooth and the staff are excellent. Special thanks to MJ, front desk manager. He is able to arrange everything my family needed. This was the best Marriott hotel we stayed in Taiwan. Very kids friendly resort with many fun games to occupy their time. Room was super clean and bed are very comfortable. Dinner was great with many chef's special dishes. I will come back in the summer time to enjoy the outdoor pool next time.
