Tie Dao Hotel - North District

We were given a room that have a strong smoking smell. When we asked to change the receptionist gave us a new room immediately but the room given was a no window room and it was so much more smaller than the first room. We actually paid more for a window room. When we asked the receptionist about it, she explained that the type of room we booked only left with one and the one that was first given to us was taken by another customer in a short span of time. Luckily, the manager stepped in and gave us a bigger room but with no window. I was annoyed because I thought that the receptionist should have explained to us and maybe suggested a way to clear the smoking smell. We were expecting a window room and the problem was we actually paid more for that. Do note too that this hotel have their old rooms and newly renovated rooms. I highly recommend that you ask for the new rooms which are at level 2 to 3. I will still give the hotel a 2 stars because the location is good. Located right in the middle of Tainan's bus stations and train station. You can get to tourist spots very conviniently. However, if you don't read Chinese, I advised that you download the Tainan public transport app for English. There are also food places nearby but we realised most places closest early.

STAY AWAY We didn't choose this hotel, it was our only option, and BOY did we find out why. First, the staff at the reception wasn't friendly. I get that it was a busy weekend, but ignoring us to our face is VERY RUDE. Secondly, the whole hotel is in a bad state of disrepair, with torn wallpapers lining the halls. Third, the room. Oh boy, the room. Upon entering the room, a lovely cockroach greeted us, accompanied by a moldy smell. Also, the floor was sticky and disgusting, the walls had several holes in them, and there was a constant loud humm in the room, we had a hard time sleeping. Fourth, the bathroom had this old yellowing tub in it, the toilet didn't flush properly, and the whole thing looked like an abandoned building. Never coming here again. Period

Apparently I'm going to give a higher grade but due to one of the girl staff treated my mum rudely, I'll give 3stars. (Just asking what floor is the laundry room and she gives really bitter face and rude voice respond). Overall is okay. The room for 2 has no window view but has a large bed. The room for 4 has a big window and good view. The toilet is very slippery. Be careful.

Very nice service at the reception. Big room for little money and very close to Tainan station and really, really clean. Very big problem: If you want to sleep longer (check out at 12): from 9am on the cleaning in front of the rooms is too loud. Sounded like they were cleaning next to my ear...

Good location This hotel is located in front of the station, which means It's easy to go anywhere from this hotel. It's a convenient for you who have to go to an airport in early morning. The room is kinda clean, but I think this building is old, so it's clean but not cozy. There is Seven eleven, a convenient store near the hotel. You can buy some food there.

Room size is okay. Pillows are too soft. Wifi are not stable, keeps dropping. I booked a no window room for two nights at NT$2030 Staff are friendly. No breakfast provided but free coffee voucher were provided. Very near to train station and bus stops, and laundry shop.

The room wasn't sanitary or clean. It's affordable but a waste of money for a dirty room filled with filth and pest infestation. Floors, windows, curtains, blanket, chairs, tables, closets, and shelves, TV, and the mattress wasn't clean either. Book a more expensive hotel instead to avoid needing to deal with this problem.

Food is terrible, completely inedible. Besides, this the place is highly unsanitary, there are rats running in the corridors and the floors are never hoovered. I didn't have the stomach to peak under the bed. Avoid at all costs...
