歷史沿革
下寮里和上寮里昔日總稱枋寮，『枋寮』意指將樹『寮』（鋸）成『板』也。

枋寮是新埔開發最早的地區，也是進出新埔的必經通道，本區有義民廟和劉家雙堂屋。另外因為多良田，因此盛產稻米。
