★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I came here in January 2016 looking for fountain pens. The staff is SUPER helpful, and spoke to me in english as my chinese is terrible. VERY very friendly and had a great experience with the regulars at the shop! Great selection on Midori stickers, and also artisan japanese stationery! Must visit!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I received as a gift a cute little Kyoto notebook from an Airbnb host in Kyoto and was hunting for a similar Japanese paper notebook when I read someone's blog on Taipei stationary stores. One of her recommendations is 明進文房具. This quaint shop is run by a friendly, straight-backed super thin man, whom I presume is the owner, and an equally friendly woman, who both answered my questions about Japanese items. The room is quite tight, so it might be hard to navigate if one has on a backpack, as I did. The ambiance is relaxed, friendly, and cheerful.

I was not looking to find anything specific, but just to browse for things that I have not seen before. The owner speaks English quite well, which is great for anglophones looking for specific items. It's a great place to find gifts for stationary buffs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The owner knows how to speak english and he was very enthusiastic in helping us pick out a fountain pen and even let my husband try different series of TWSBI. There are also a good selection of stationery products like stickers, stamps, notebooks, erasers, paper clips and such. Price-wise, they do not differ much from my home country, except for the TWSBI which is definitely cheaper here. We loved our experience in this small shop, the owner is superb and very helpful!
EDIT: We came back for the second time during our trip. The owner was so generous and gave us a free notebook and filled our purchased pens with our choice of inks for free! I love this shop! Plus they have a cabinet full of the TWSBI limited editions you can no longer find in your country. Definitely worthy of a visit (or two)! ??

Brightly lit ambience with prim and proper arrangement of stationery making it easy to look for what you need. Warm and friendly owners. Walking distance from LiuZhangLi MRT.
