★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Get some fried dough fritter (you tiao) and warm soy milk.
Hold your fried dough with your left hand, bite it, and immediately scoop the warm soy milk with your right hand. Youll eat like a local.
Sour spicy soup (suan la tang) is so refreshing after a long flight. Its unlike the chinese version, which is darker in color. This version is light and sour, with a little little hint of bright spiciness. Would really recommend this.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loved our meal here. While there was a short queue, Ordering and seating is very organized and clean. Their trademark soybean milk had a bit of smokiness which is unique to their style. Similar dishes as typical soybean milk spots, but if you’re looking for something unique, then it’s worth it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve been here so many times throughout my entire life... it’s a super popular locals spot and a tourist attraction for authentic Taiwanese style breakfasts.
They’ve recently renovated which means I walked past it by accident and though I miss the old scraggly look, they did a beautiful job.
My most recent time today was after flying into Taiwan at 3am and being able to eat my nostalgic favorites at 5am ? (and my photos show how popular the spot is AT 5AM!!)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It seems like this place is the original Yonghe-style breakfast food and snacks. The place is also very clean unlike all the other Yonghe-style breakfast so much so that their restrooms have Japanese-style toilets and looks very new. You will definitely feel that the food you eat is clean unlike other places that make you think if roaches have walked all over the ingredients. The portions are also big and the taste is very authentic and very affordable. I believe there is an English menu but each choice has a photo so it is convenient. I paid through cash but foreign credit might be available since Food Panda and Uber Eats delivery is available.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ People saying Yonghe soybean milk originated at restaurant. I visited here about 10 years ago. It looks different from how I remember now, they renovated it.
Food still tasty, but Malay cake tasted flavorless this time. I used to like it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had warm soymilk without sugar. It was not bad but personally I don't like the burnt flavour. Some people like it but I prefer the plain flavour. The radish cake with egg was very good. The bread with egg was also not bad but not perfect. Quick service, OK prices. Good to try if you like this kind of good and you're in the area.
