About nearly 400 years when European sailors passing Taiwan record the island's name as Ilha Formosa, or beautiful island. The cut the long story short, Wulai Falls surely is one of the mesmerizing places where takes your breath away as it's unique and magnificent! The special rice that aboriginal people cook is a must-try! Fresh air and natural pools drive you to the verge of madness! I swam in one those pools between rocks twice! Crazy!

Wulai is such a beautiful waterfall. Have you been to top of Wulai? Take cable to reach top of Wulai and there’s a wonderful resort.

I really loved Wulai Falls. It was surprising to find this hidden gem with so much culture and... life! I loved the little intricate traditional roads, homes and shops. I came here with a friend and we took the gondola ride up then hiked the rest of the way to the top. It. Was. Amazing! I loved the beautiful "pond" once you get to the very top. It was like being on a movie set. it was quite lovely. I totally recommend coming here in the fall or winter where the weather is cooler and you can enjoy canoeing and other outdoorsy activities. It can make the hike up go even smoother.

The Wulai Waterfall was possibly the best known waterfall in Taiwan besides the Shifen Waterfall. I suspect the reason for this was its relative close proximity to Taiwan’s capital city of Taipei. There was pretty good reason for this popularity as you can see as the waterfall featured an 80m drop right across from the Atayal aboriginal-themed town of Wulai. While the main drop was the easiest to see, there were actually more hidden cascades and waterfalls further upstream from the valley comprising the overall Wulai Waterfalls. Those were only visible by cable car. Located in the south of New Taipei City, Wulai is home to the Atayal people and is famous throughout Taiwan for its hot springs. As such it is now a tourist town and many people come here to wallow in the warm waters, learn more about the rich indigenous culture and explore the surrounding nature. With loads of outdoor activities on offer, you can go hiking in the forests, go fishing in the river and also camp amongst the wild while enjoying the delightful scenery. Visitors can also buy some of the indigenous arts and crafts on sale and try some of the local food.

Amazing landscape really easy to get here by bus(you can take bus here from Bitan station). The view is just WOW, there's all kind of thing here to explore! traditional local food, old streets, waterfall, hiking trail, hot spring and even some hidden natural river to swim! This is definitely somewhere you don't want to miss.

Wulai falls were a sight to behold! Especially after weeks of continuous and heavy precipitation. The valley and the surrounding forests weren't picturesque on their own but the falls were just the icing on the cake. Would recommend coming here as early as possible to avoid the throngs of tourists who flock around later. Plus you'd get plenty of great spots to take pictures without having to wait. Furthermore, the cafes nearby aren't crowded as well so you can enjoy a nice quiet meal
