★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 平日沒人時，可以把車停在象鼻國小旁的路邊，再走進去。很長又高的吊橋的確可以一走，很舒服。給3顆星是因為步道的護欄、台階維護很差，反而沒有保護功能。

When there is no one on weekdays, you can park your car on the side of the road beside Elephant Trunk Elementary School and walk in again. The long and high suspension bridge can indeed be walked on and is very comfortable. The 3 stars are given because the guardrails and steps of the trail are poorly maintained, but there is no protection function.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 長300公尺、海拔高100公尺、年紀超過半世紀的象鼻吊橋，是唯一橫跨大安溪流域的吊橋。為日治時期永安、大安部落學童上學的必經路線，也是象鼻古道的起點。相傳當年日本政府為鎮壓強悍的北勢群泰雅族，於是在象鼻上打洞穿環建造吊橋，像是牢牢的拴住部落的一舉一動。
The Elephant Trunk Suspension Bridge, which is 300 meters long and 100 meters above sea level, is more than half a century old and is the only suspension bridge that spans the Daan River Basin. It was the only route for school children of Yong'an and Da'an tribes to go to school during the Japanese occupation period, and it was also the starting point of the Elephant Trunk Road. According to legend, the Japanese government built a suspension bridge with holes and rings in the elephant trunk in order to suppress the powerful Atayal people of Beishiqun, which seemed to firmly tie the tribe to every move.
