★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a nice place, far away from everything, but it's also quite dangerous. I've read about people drowning in the water here a couple of times, so jumping into the water isn't always a very good idea here. There is also a sign about that as I remember. There are basically two ways to get here. From above it's an easy walk and takes only a couple of minutes, but the road is often closed. From the other side, from downstreams, it's a difficult climb and it takes at least half an hour one direction. It's also not a smart move coming here when it rains, since water levels rise rapidly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ "Fairy Falls" is a natural, small waterfall somewhat hidden from the road. For many, it CAN be a nice place to visit, but the DANGERS, WARNINGS, and GOVT. PROHIBITIONS must also be mentioned. I have been there a few times over the years. It is not an official "tourist attraction." In fact, the government has posted red warning signs forbidding people from entering. There is a history of reported drownings/deaths here.
It can be difficult to find. However Google maps is accurate. Earthquakes and landslides take their toll on the roads in the area, so beware. The falls are difficult to see from the road. About a few hundred meters walk through forest and riverbed from where you can park a car. Actually, there is no clear path to the falls, as the govt. forbids it anyway. There is a smaller path/road further up the road that is very narrow & overgrown and is NOT suitable for cars or other vehicles (perhaps motorcycles, bicycles, or walking is possible, but still treacherous). Using the smaller path, it takes you around to behind the falls if you can find it, and it is still difficult and dangerous to hike down to the falls.
In the dry season, the falls are only a disappointing trickle, and the pool of water is stagnant and not pleasant to swim in. In the wet season, however, the falls come alive, but this adds to the danger of the water as well. Many foreigners and locals know this place and ignore the signs and have a wonderful time. But go at your own risk! You need to be fit, cautious, and lucky to avoid injury. Remember, it is in a remote location if you need govt rescue. Also, my friend had cash stolen from his parked scooter here once.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really love it here - a cool escape on a hot day in the city. There's a couple nice places to jumps into the water. Takes a while to scoot up into the hills from the city, but when you're sweaty and grimy from the summer humidity, it's worth it. The water is clean and ideal for taking a dip and the surrounding forest is lush. Have seen a beautiful Kingfisher here! Great views on the way up the hills. Wear insect repellent and pack lightly, just come for a couple hours cool down as there's not a lot around.
Be warned though... depending on how far you climb the river rocks, it can be slippery and dangerous. Also, there a bit of litter around the base- please don't drop litter in beautiful Taiwan... finally, a friend of mine had her scooter broken into and bad stolen from under the seat, so don't leave valuables around. Otherwise, Enjoy!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A beautiful but deadly swimming hole with a waterfall. A steep hike down to the river followed by hopping across and clambering over some huge and small rocks makes this a fun but hazardous hike.
Landslides and earthquakes mean the terrain can change between visits. The swimming hole itself is a deep pool, fed by a small waterfall. Diving and jumping from the rocks is forbidden due to an undertow that has killed visitors before.
Parts of the hike have ropes placed to assist, other parts have none and some parts may require small risks to pass. There were life rings at the pool when we visited.
2 out of 4 of our group went home with small grazes and cuts. 1 slipped from a rock and luckily landed in a deeper part of the river.
Hike at your own risk. No phone signal in the valley but GPS worked but possibly not at other times of day.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The place is lovely, not much people going there, it's dangerous but safety first must be applied, public transportation is rare.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really Awesome place. Not an easy access. From the top it's the easiest but it's dangerous to get down to enjoy the big pool (unless you jump). From the bottom it would be a 40 minutes difficult walk (no path), but you do not need to take any risk when you are arrive.
There is 2 possibility of Jump, one is from around 3 floors high, and the other is 5 floors high.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve been there three years ago, it was a nice trip and less difficult to arrive....
Last week, I went there again, was extremely dangerous.
If you really wanna go, highly recommend don’t go alone. Also wear long sleeves + pants to cover your body. And be careful !!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The place was currently close due to earthquake damage, but you can still go in this place but need to do hiking going into the falls. Clean water, relaxing place in nature.
