★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interesting sugarcane railroad experience in passenger wagons without spring and brake, especially steam locomotive train (11 am and 2 pm to be recommended). Only uninterrupted loud acoustic irradiation by an announcer is very disturbing (especially if you do not understand the language, but also many native speakers felt that way)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interesting ride on a half gauge train, passing thru farmland and rice paddies. Narrator was much too loud (spoke Chinese only). Candy factory was closed when we were there. Ate ice cream across the street and it was disappointing - low quality, cut with too much ice, not tasty at all.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For prices, it has become expensive since last few years. It takes 40$ averagely for each ice-creams which are hand-making.
For taste, it's not like what it was when I was young about 10 years age. Now I prefer go the Family store which is just next by this store and sell ice-cream too.
However, Family store cannot entirely replace this ice-cream store since it supplies plenty of different flavors. And this ice-cream store provides a free and related space where we can enjoy the atmosphere there as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As a Canadian I'm surprised this place was free to visit. Had a lot of fun looking around at the sugar factory and learning the culture around making sugar. Highly recommend visiting if you visit this small town of Xihu.
