Ximending Night Market

A must visit night market. It is crowded and there was a lot of construction going on around the time we went. But a lot of places to explore and shops to pick up street food and souvenirs from. Definitely better than Shilin market. Best to visit once during the day and another time during night.

Good food and good atmosphere! There are always random performances! But this is like the ‘orchard road’ in Singapore. Stuff here would cost more. I recommend WuFenPu for shopping instead. Nevertheless still a must-go place for a tourist like me :)

This place is so hip and vibrant with various street performers that entertains the crowd. So many food choices but prices are quite higher than other night markets. Love the milk tea, stinky tofu, shaved ice with toppings, and big fried chicken! Love the vibe of this place!

I absolutely love this night market. They open early and have A LOT of stuff to see. The main street is very wide and open for walking. They also have side alleys to explore as well as streets surrounding it. You get out of MRT with 2 main exits to get you right into the night market entrance. Only down side would be due to the multiple intersections so you are bound to revisit the same street multiple times if you really want to cover every inch of this place. They have ground level stores and there are also multiple shopping areas in a single build. Some focus on nothing but electronics too. I had no interest in buying anything but I still spent hours walking around. I didnt bother with sitdown restaurants, I only got street foods. Although I travel around a bit, so my stomach probably got some good immunity... I did not get sick at all with the local drinks and food carts. I would definitely come back, but with the amount of walking, I am not sure I want to bring my little ones. It can get a bit crowded in certain sections. Single person can zip around the crowd no problem.

Great place to hangout with friends for Window shopping or watching movies. There's some nice salon options, piercing or tattoo shops too. Or you can just explore some good food restaurants.

Step foot in Ximending and you could be forgiven for thinking you’ve been teleported to Japan. The well-known Ximending Pedestrian Area was the first pedestrian area built in Taipei and is the largest in Taiwan.

Popular area for shopping hop, well-known as Taipei night market for tourists. Plenty of shops and souvenir stores. Local and international brand available here. One of must visit place while in Taiwan especially in Taipei. Always crowded and Don't forget to try their local food and famous bubble drink here.
