★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An ok place. You don't have to spend any money here if you don't want to. There's a small museum upstairs. Worth a quick look. You can taste free samples of the products they're selling.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was brought here as part of a local tour group. The staff here do not care whether you buy anything from them or not, and there are plenty of free tastings. Level two has many scenes from history that you can interact with and snap a few shots

samples. They are friendly but not hard-selling. They also offer packing our purchase in a box. Nice experience to shop for bring home goodies.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A good place to visit to get to know about Hualien history. There is a presenter who explain about Hualien history. But Chinese speaker. So for international travelers it will be difficult. But can manage by themselves.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good thing we made a reservation beforehand, we were able to get a guided tour. The old timey "museum" is kind of fun for people to take photos. It's like the 1930s-1950s? The souvenir shop didn't have anything we wanted to buy since we did not like mochi. But there were plenty of sample food. Very cute place to visit. Would recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interesting place where we can learned to know about how people in Taiwan lived once upon a time. On their second floor, It seems like we walked back in time, found old market, cinema (film played in black & white), old train station, port, & etc.
First floor is place where all kind of tidbits, food and etc are selling. Worth a short visit.
