★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 當你開車要來找這個車站，幾乎一定會走過頭，因為車站前的主要道路完全沒有關於它的指標。
當我用導航找到車站所在地，我在路邊左看右看就是看不到車站。結果後來才發現已經走過頭，因為開車由羅東方面往這條路，一轉彎右手邊立刻就是車站的廣場，所以除非是來過這裡，否則即使有這麼大的廣場也很容易讓你沒辦法發現。
看到新馬車站讓我想到苗栗後龍的龍港車站，感覺像是被海嘯摧殘過的車站，講白了就是破破爛爛像個廢墟，陰暗處還有不知哪來的工人躺在旁邊睡大頭覺。簡陋至極的還有聯通月台跟車站後方的天橋，連遮雨遮太陽的蓋子都沒有。
