★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best work-outs you can get in Kaohsiung. Nice to have a place where you can nearly convince yourself that you're not in a large city. Lucky we are to have Chaishan!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You can get water here. You can fill up your own bottle or drink from cups that are there; just wash the cup and put it back afterwards. Excellent views are lots of lush vegetation surrounding the area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a beautiful spot to rest and take in the view. There is also water for hikers free of cost, provided by kind locals. Hang on tight to your food though, if you decide to have a snack here, the monkeys WILL snatch the food from your hands if you're not careful!! Apparently they will steal anything that sounds like plastic wrapping paper, including toys, so be careful!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Super nice guys carry the water and tea up to this top of the hill and cook the tea for all the hikers FOR FREE! They even have ice there. And they are full of joy! Bless them

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful lookout towards the sea, popular with local hikers. During the spring, summer and autumn months it's possible to watch the sun set over the ocean from here. The sunset from here is often spectacular. Local mountain climbing associations often provide free hot tea and fresh water to climbers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very convenient location near the city. Very nice sunset view of Taiwan Straight. Need to pay attention to the aggressive monkeys when you open backpack and watch whether monkey is above you on the tree. They could pee on your head (lol). There is free hot herb tea offered by local great kind ppl which they carry RO water and propane gas up.

Perfect place for the fans of wildlife. Heaven of hikers. The best part is, this is a good hiking place for beginners as well as experienced hikers.
Crowded, busy natural park with views everywhere.
You can find The Formosan rock macaque right this place !!!
